Anyone Else Concerned

that the immigration debate is going to spiral into violence? People seem so worked up about this issue, and the rhetoric is so hot, I'm actually worried about the prospect of words leaping into actions. Before anyone gets pissed off at me, I'm not for one second suggesting this is remotely true of anyone posting here at DU. It just seems like so much free floating frustration and anger has found a focus.

1. I'll say it for you then (well, really for myself)...

i firmly believe there are those here that are paid by the right wing to read, study, collaborate, then post on DU on hot-button topics such as this. It would cost less than $1M a year:

a few "believers"
a few computers
a few internet accounts
multiple registrations per person

equals

one totally disrupted DU (and other sites)

good "bang for the buck" if you ask me.

3. Please don't say it for me.

I take the opinions of DUers at face value. I really don't see that there's any other way to do it. I've seen some posters I really respect who are taking an anti illegal immigration stance. I think it's a disservice to assume that they aren't genuine in their beliefs. Your position involves too much unbridled speculation.

i too have seen those that i otherwise respect taking an anti stand...but i don't see them needlessly fanning the flames. And they post on different topics, not just hot-button items like immigration, abortion, etc. And they tend to post somewhat consistently, not just during times like this when peoples buttons are "ripe for being pushed", if you know what i mean.

2. The truth is that a Kent State event is inevitable....

I don't want it to happen but.....the hardcore neocon nuts do not want to yield the tenuous powere that they have stolen....

Whatever the event is...it will be the catalyst to something very dangerous....

I think the marches and the huge unprecedented turnout is going to spark more protests.....and they are going to get larger.....

It's weird...it's like sensing the changing wind or tide....I feel it too.....

Isn't it ironic that Ohio is still a battleground? I was living 70 or so miles away and it was chilling.
