the "satirist" is focusing on the one aspect of the issue that validates his perspective, the legal aspect, while ignoring all the other aspects - historical, economic, geopolitical, etc. - that make the issue more complicated than he's willing to deal with.

9. I was looking into moving to Cozumel, Mexico a couple years ago...

and I was told that they can only hire a foreigner if there is a reason a local can't do the job. For example, silly American tourists feel more comfortable dealing with Americans at the shops and time share hotels, so they can hire Americans. Lots of places will still hire Americans, and pay them under the table like we do with foreign workers here. But I think Mexico has more of a right to restrict foreign workers than we do, because good jobs are so hard to come by there. Sure, things aren't fantastic here right now, but try making an average living on pesos, and you'll realize how good we've got it!

10. That particualr story may be satire, but I have heard MANY times

that V. Fox wants to be a big part of the US immigration program, but Mexico has a LAW that says NOBODY can have any part in any rules in Mexico.

I don't think the US has any right to insert itself into Mexican law, but I sure don't think Fox has any right to insert himself into US law either!
