To be stunned or not to be stunned:Moussaoui in court
Stun belts. Stunning. I hadn't even heard of this...

http://www.total411.info/index.html

In it, NBC news reporter Pete Williams lets slip that Moussaoui is wearing a "Stun belt" underneath his clothing controlled by US Marshals. MSNBC host Dan Abrams gets some more details on the stun belt.

A taste of the exchange:
WILLIAMS: The old outbursts were gone... He was very docile today... We believe that he's wearing one of those stun belts, and it may be that he was very worried about doing anything that would cause those Marshals to press the button....

ABRAMS: A stun belt? They literally have sOmething around his waist? That they can push a button and?

At $800 each, stun belts are the closest thing to a fashion craze in the correctional field. For the well-appointed prosecutor or prison guard, they're a must. The devices are battery-operated and fit around the waist of a prisoner. The guard holds a simple remote control that sends an eight-second, 50,000- to 70,000-volt surge through a prisoner, causing immediate loss of muscular control and incapacitation.

1. I have and I oppose ALL electroshock weapons
If I could, I would send in the Feds and shut down (with force if needed) ALL factories that manufacture electroshock weapons.

2. Is testimony from a witness wearing a stun belt admissable?
Seems to me he could claim he was threatened with being zapped if he deviated from a script given to him by the prosecutor.

5. could this have something to do with ..
why he changed his story at the last minute-did a total reversal, after over 4 years of saying
he was not involved in 9/11-even denying it on the stand, and then suddenly and shockingly, he turns around and says he was supposed to fly a plane into the White House with the shoe bomber? His own lawyer was stunned, and has said he doesn't believe him. it was so weird, and I've been trying to figure out why he'd do that.

6. I don't believe him, either.
I figured it had something to do with his earlier erratic, crazy outbursts, that he's not playing with a full deck. The story seemed to concocted, so contrived. I mean, he only named the shoebomber guy and no one else when asked to name everyone in his unit. Why is that?

The stunbelt makes sense, though. Ick, ick, ick. That's so evil. *shudder*

7. and isn't a coincidence that right when..
it seemed like there was a lot of 9/11 info coming out (the CNN poll, Charlie Sheen, etc.)
and right when it seemed that this trial was forcing some 9/11 truth to the surface,he says he was
supposed to get the White House? Surely, the government couldn't have been involved, how could they attack the very place where they were? it all seems too pat. (ok, I'm wearing my tinfoil hat)

10. These Belts Are Used On Drugged Out Prisoners
In some fairness, some of these dudes they bring into to court are scary as all hell. This is especially the case in arraigning these people...fresh off the street after a night of binging their brains out. Sadly, restraints are necessary when the person is uncontrollable and better to give him a shock and knock him on his ass than some bullet flying around.

Mossouri's case has been a total joke. From everything I've read, this dude is certified batshit crazy and playing up his 15 minutes of fame for some personal glory. Next to Richard Reed, the shoe bomber, this guy looks like the crook who couldn't shoot straight. Some can and do think he's a plant...a distraction :tinfoil:, I just think the guy's a Big Mac shy of a Happy Meal.

This case has been so messed up I can't see how this conviction will hold up.
