Hate Jock slams me again on radio for last weeks Sheehan call.... Ouch!!!

On Friday, Cleveland's Own Morning Hate Show Host (I don't know his name but he's on WTAM at 9 to 11:30), responded yet again to my call from last Friday. Apparently, he had discovered my post here on the Democratic Underground (Previous Post)

I had pretended to be an average Republican (you know, racist and ignorant) and supported every issue he had espoused during the previous hour. I hated Cindy Sheehan, I hated brown illegal immigration and I hated liberals. I gave the guy a hard on. Well, that is until he realized that the things I was saying was extremely (and I mean, extremely) overtly racist. (Keep in mind... he had no problem with me calling Hugo Chavez and illegal immigrants vermin, it didn't even raise an eyebrow. So I basically had to catapult the racism to get him to notice that the filth I was spewing was bigoted.)

My goal was to associate anti-Cindy protesters with a racist hate-group and it may have had some good effect. According to a caller, only 2 people showed up to counter protest. Now this may or may not have anything to do with my call, hopefully no one in Cleveland would've disgraced this town and come out against Cindy anyway. I called and did what I did because I was hoping if some people did decide to listen to this jackass maybe they would shy away from Marches with banners that read, "Racists Against Cindy."

Well anyway, I managed to catch a bit of his infotainment Repuke sales pitch again this morning and he happened to be talking about my call. (As it turns out, It was one of his listeners that alerted him to the post. We must have a spy in our midst... Perish the thought. Who would ever believe that anything posted here would be picked up by the Freeps?) He read snippets of the post and commented on the fact that us liberals are all loonies. (I apologize for perpetuating the stereotype.) What I found more pleasing than him allowing me to derail his original show was the mental image I conjured when I imagined him reading my post. (I can only imagine how completely pissed off he must have been, that would have been a sight to see.)

When I posted it, I did know there was a chance that the Freeps would pick this up and send it on. The chance seemed remote but as the number of votes grew, so did the likelihood that the Freeps would pass it along. That same likelihood exists for this post as well I suppose, so I'd like to take the opportunity to address this guy from my bully pulpit.

Dear Mr. Hate Jock,

I apologize for my rudeness. When I called the other day, I failed to welcome you to the great City of Cleveland. As a newcomer to this town, I should have given you a much more hospitable welcome. So, in all seriousness, welcome to Cleveland.

With that now out of the way... To me, you sound like a pompous asshole who revels in the fact that he gets paid to be a dick. I tuned in to give you an honest opportunity to earn a new listener and the first thing I hear from you is a campaign to drown out Cindy Sheehan. Are you out of your fucking mind? Simply amazing. You replace Jerry Springer in the Morning and 4 days later your calling for a hate march against Cindy. Real cool, dick. Your Republican ideas on how this overwhelmingly Democratic city should be run and who is welcome in our town seem just a tad pre-mature and down-right ill-mannered, don't ya think?

If my call pissed you off and got under your skin, that too was my intent. I don't apologize for the anger or the frustration this has caused you nor do I expect you'll suffer from either for very long. What I do hope is that one day you'll see the evil you support and realize the harm you are causing. I don't hold much hope that you'll suddenly grow a conscience, everyone knows you can't sew a new patch on an old coat. I don't expect I'll trouble you again unless of course you get in my way again. If that time comes, I'll figure out some other way to trip you up and then get you to relive it days later on your news show.

Make the listener, who is paying attention, start to think, "this caller is a nutcase. Do I sound that hateful?"

On getting Mr. 'I'm an independent' Frantz's goat. His last station, WSPD here in Toledo Kicked him out of his morning spot (5:30-9am) for being 'too intense' He is a MAJOR Bush lover and trashed Dem candidates (Kerry, Dean etc) at every opportunity. His listeners and posters on his blog, are generally in the 30 some percent of true belivers.

As criminals or aiders and abettors of criminals these radio show folks know that if the tide really turns, they're going to be washed out with the rest of the shit.

So almost like lemmings they're scrambling to maintain a higher ground by becoming more and more shrill, lashing out against anyone who's bringing to light the nature of their fantasy world. They look around and see "all these other RW talk shows" and think they must be the majority.

Of course they can't do the simple math of seeing that the corporate ownership of these radio stations, craven to the same criminals, is the only thing keeping their "gang" of talking heads from falling off the dial.

Radio station licenses are of course hard to get, unless you're a RW shill who can easily get a GOP rubber stamp from the FCC, easily get a rubber stamp on their bank loan, and easily get a rubber stamp from the advertisers (also craven corporations duh!). The talk show hosts believe that the power of "democratic choice" is what is floating their ships, and thus there must be so much support for them, and thus they MUST be the MAJORITY, RIGHT?!?!?

The FCC had before it a community-oriented Low-Power FM proposal that would have opened up the opportunity for over 10,000 local communities to find a voice to reach their neighborhoods. You can guess what happened to the proposal... Again the GOP rubber stamp came out to DENY the opportunity for the various ethnic, religious, and other like-minded citizens to easily broadcast their message.

The new LPFM licenses in the United States may only be issued to nonprofit educational organizations and state and local governments. Also, the one and so far only "window" for applications closed in 2003, and at present, the FCC is not entertaining any new broadcast license applications, instead conducting auctions of frequencies for full power uses only.

Amazingly the FCC site still has their LPFM stuff up without any changes when the rubber hammer came down back in 2003, trying to put a good spin on "oh we're doing so much to help"... All the radio regulations are bought and paid for by the broadcast lobby (again, Duh!) so it is of course no wonder their is a constriction on actual democratic voices, and even the few LPFM stations have quite a bit of controversy:

-- The majority of the licenses have been issued to religious broadcasters who tend to have little locally produced programming and syndicate the broadcasts from all around the nation. Religious broadcasters counter that few secular groups are equipped to fund the continuing operations of an LPFM station.
-- Of the religious broadcasters, a large number have been issued to local branches of Calvary Chapel.
-- In some states, the local Department of Transportation operates large networks of LPFM stations that act as Highway Advisory Radio stations—a service traditionally operated at the fringes of the AM band—restricting the number of available channels.
-- Due to Legal requirements that LPFM stations be separated by at least 0.6 MHz from all other stations (even though most experts claim 0.4 MHz would be sufficient), in most large metropolitan areas there are no available frequencies for LPFM stations at all.

So you CAN'T even apply for an LPFM license AND even if you could, the regulations restrict it so much (thanks broadcast lobby!) you can essentially only run it in an Iowa cornfield. At least the corn can tune in to their "community voice".

But back to these dicks. They're not the brightest bulbs in the batch, but they intuitively can tell that "their side is in trouble". Sadly they've never had much an ability to stratergerize and so they have two fallback positions: 1) take Ms. Mehlman's advocacy to heart and rally around the W Flag, and 2) Turn up their SHRILLNESS KNOB to ELEVEN.

I feel pity for them since they really are afraid for their futures and their ability to put food on their families.

All things pass, even them... Of course I'm sure Project-X WONT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THEM AT ALL... heh heh heh.
