Ask when you go places if they hire illegals. Do not go the restraunts that hire, ask your landscaping company... if you are buying a new house, check into the builder... ask at the garage...

If there is no demand for the jobs because we boycott no one will come. They only come because there are jobs. I wonder how long until you can't go anywhere bc so many places hire them.

BTW, the state my not hire illegals, but they hire companies that do to build roads and schools and stuff like that.

One reason America is so goddamn glutonous is because consumers do not pay the real cost of goods and services. Pay Americans what they are worth and they will work the fields. Besides, food production is necessary for a specific population. Rather than using cheap labor to increase production AND consumption, maybe we should be reducing the need for that production. An economy that depends on a constantly growing labor force is not sustainable.

There are laws against hiring illegals. They don't get enforced much, but there are laws. Seems unlikely ILLEGAL EMPLOYERS would answer your question honestly so you could boycott them, or maybe even try to get them arrested

13. Exactly - I've been listening to Air America and there are a couple

of left wing talking points I'm sick of hearing. I don' like talking points that are repeated to brainwash you. Usually it's from the right, but for illegal immigrants it's from the left.

One is that "they take the jobs we won't do". This isn't true. I worked picking raspberries for a week one summer in my teenage years. I quit because the pay wasn't as much as babysitting for the summer. That's how little they get paid. That was 30 years ago. Now I live in a rural mountain area and the jobs like landscaping and building and house cleaning and restaurant jobs are all done by legals! They are getting paid a living wage. Surprise! Americans WILL take jobs if they are paid a living wage. If the landscaper or builder is from the nearby city then the underlings are almost all illegal. The employer benefits at the expense of Peasantification of the job.

Early in our history we relied on Slavery and immigrants for cheap labor. We got rid of slavery and immigrants had a habit of moving up in society after a generation or two. So we started to rely on a permanent underclass of illegal immigrants. It has gotten a lot worst. This is wrong.

The other talking point is "how can you get rid of X million illegals? You can't bus them out! There's too many". What erks me is that this assumes you have to. All you have to do is fine and jail employers who hire them. A small percentage prosecuted will start deterring the others. At the same time, you make the jobs living wage jobs. There could be an exception for teenagers but it has to be a reasonable wage.

I don't believe in living on the backs of a permanent underclass. I think it's wrong to take jobs away from USA citizens by peasantification. Not everybody is destined to be a college graduate and not all college graduates are destined to be white collar workers. My good friend is a former teacher who chose to clean houses rather than teach. She gets paid a living wage and can work hours around her elementary age kids. Why should an illegal take her job away? The going rate here is $15-20 an hour for cleaning. All legals working. In Texas my sister can get an illegal to come over the border and get paid $6 for cleaning and babysitting simultaneously.

It may hurt a little but its the right thing to do: Get rid of the permanent underclass. While the employers are paying outrageously low wages the rest of us are paying for hospital and schooling and all the other social network infrastructure needed to support 11-12 million people. They are paying into FICA mostly but at such low wages I doubt it makes up for the support costs of hosting them. Maybe it's time to figure out a better way to support our Latin American neighbors' economies. This way of under the table money wired down to relatives back home is not healthy for anybody.

The problem is big business, and 2 corrupt countries. They are pitting the lowest economic classes against one another. Americans, illegal aliens, and Mexicans need to work together.

The millions of dollars in salaries of CEO's using illegal labor, such as Smithfield Foods $13.2 and Tyson $10.292 make almost as much the Chief Executives of Coca Cola $5.825 and Ford Motors $5.603 combined. The demand for Ford products as well as others that have tried to pay a fair wage would likely increase if the average person was paid a livable wage.

Tyson according to a lawsuit filed against the company, has recruiters that target Mexican workers. They prey on people that know little English, and are considered meek. They pay to bring the workers into the country, to drive down wages. They provide housing, to avoid detection, which the worker is overcharged to live in.

10. it's not that simple

Most employers do not know when they hire undocumented workers, we are required to fill out federal form I-9. There is a list of acceptable IDs, but usually one form is a SS card. Here is the problem, when the I-9 is submitted to the SSA, The number is not run through the system to ensure that 1. the num is valid and 2. that no one else is using the number.

The solution to the immigration problem is simple:

1. SSA must have an "active" database to check ALL SS #s.
2. Wages in central and south America need to be raised.

Obvoiusly num 2 is the main prob, right now the minimum wage in Mexico is $6.07 per DAY.

I got my name changed after I got married. Turns out that my birthday was wrong at the SS office. Well, I have been all over the world, have had 3 passports, quite a few jobs, several driver's licences. The do not double check anything. You would think they would run some sort of check from your passport at least, but no. Makes you wonder, doesnt it?

One fake document can get you all the rest of them.

Funny thing is that the ss#s can be run if requested, but only the first couple per month are free for the employer, after that you have to pay to check the number.

They might make a copy of the S/S card for their records - just to have proof that they've seen your S/S card. But that's it.

and they fill out the federal I-9 which is sent to the Social Security Admin. It's the SSA that does not check these #s. The employers do what they are required to do, nothing more nothing less.
