Five retired Generals and Admirals want Scalia off Gitmo case.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/27/AR2006032701399.html

Many of us have heard the story of how Scalia shot off his mouth to a European audience about his son being on the battlefield and that therefore, a Gitmo prisoner isn't entitled to a trial by jury. He also called the Europeans hypocrites. (Way to go Opus Dei Tony.)

In their statement, the generals and admirals said that the speech in Switzerland "... gave rise to the unfortunate appearance that ... the justice had made up his mind ..." They all want him to recuse himself from this case. These are powerful statements coming from men who have laid their lives on the line for our country and who understand better than most what it is they fought to defend.

Wouldn't you just love to see the thugs try to "swiftboat" men like these.

3. The only possible ways to explain Scalia are, a stroke, total insanity,
or some sort of malignant pod.

As with Bush/Cheney/Rove, et al, the only thing we can do is bitch. But damn, someday these miserable vermin must be brought to justice.

7. I didn't say that. Those were two of three different explanations.

2. I know two of those guys who signed the letter!
And I'm pleased that they are putting their money where their mouth is. They were, in essence, pushed out by BushCo. Odds are good at least one of the two would still be serving under a Democratic President.
