I want to scream, "How did THEY deserve this????" I do not, because we no longer speak, and because I already know the answer. My Bush-loving sister would simply repeat what she already told me, three years ago, in her cold-eyed, good German way: "Those people only understand one thing, violence. And violence is what they will get."

US targets "misinformation" on Iraq family deaths


BAGHDAD - The U.S. military hit back on Wednesday at what it called a "pattern of misinformation" following Iraqi police accusations that its troops shot dead a family of 11 in their home last week.

Responding to comments by police and residents in the town of Ishaqi, north of Baghdad, that U.S. officers had failed to attend a meeting on Wednesday about the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Barry Johnson, a senior spokesman, told Reuters:

"There was no meeting scheduled with any Coalition investigators today. There appears to be a distinct pattern of misinformation surrounding this entire incident.

"This is another clear sign of that happening, making allegations for the sake of prompting media reporting and attempting to discredit Coalition operations. This is a pattern we‘ve seen the terrorist-backed insurgency use repeatedly."

Some of it is on his homepage, http://www.chris-floyd.com/ , but a lot of articles have been too honest to appear in the corporate media - add "Moscow Times" to the Google search to find these , and look at the dates.

And to Chris Floyd, I assume you have been reading DU for a while, so you probably noticed this, but any post you see by H2OMan is quite likely to be very instructive when it comes to pulling back the curtain and exposing a few of the deails about "how things really work." There are many other insightful posters here, of course, but his posts are always worth reading, in my view.
