Gas went up 12 cents/gal while I was swiping my credit card at the pump.
It was $2.38/gal as I was putting my card in the reader at the pump, and it wouldn't read. Then the price changed to $2.50/gal as I re-swiped. I had to gas up as I was sitting close to empty. I missed it by about one minute.

Dammit. I hate these oil companies.

3. It's your fault, then
The oil companies saw your purchase as the "tipping point" that showed increased demand and therefore raised the price accordingly.

Thanks a lot!

13. What kind of car do you drive? Mid grades/premium are a waste of money
unless you're driving a high-compression engine, like in a BMW. Minimum octane level required for Bimmers is listed in the owner's manual. For virtually any type of "normal" car, 87 octane is all you need.

15. I alternate between mid-grade and regular
I think my manual says to use premium, but I buy the cheap stuff unless she starts acting up, though if she's been behaving well, I'll still reward her with mid-grade every so often.

16. Me too. My husband wants me to use midgrade all of the time,
but I only use it when the engine starts feeling a little sluggish, and then with midgrade it stops acting that way. It seems to do a little better on midgrade, but at 8-10 cents a gallon more, I can't afford it.

18. I'm riding my bike as much as I can and where it is safe to
do so. I took a couple of days off it, though, because I fell on asphalt when mounting the bike the other day. I have a few nasty bruises and a painful scrape on my left palm.

22. Do you have biking gloves?
They cover your fingers up to the first knuckle and have thick palms. I always wear them and recommend them.

24. No, I don't have any. But that's a good idea, so I'll look for
some on my next trip shopping. The injury to the skin on my palm is more inconvenient than the worse scrape and bruise on my leg.

19. Been noticing a station lower than most
over the last 3 0r 4 days.

It's a Mobil with usually higher prices than everybody else but it was running about 15 cents under the rest.

Hah, foolish me I found out why they were so low. Stopped by this morning to fill up and it's closed, shut down, out of business since Monday.

20. The lowest here is Exxon, and Citgo is about a third of the way down
down the list. And I have to drive further to get to a CITGO. I hate buying EXXON gas, but there are three of them closer to me than any other.
