U.N. Nuke Chief Urges Calm On Iran

Mohamed ElBaradei, speaking at a forum in Qatar, joined others in proposing a more conciliatory tone against Iran. And, it came days after the U.N. Security Council voted to give Iran 30 days to respond to U.N. requests that it halt uranium enrichment research.

ElBaradei said it was time to "lower the pitch" of debate on Iran, the Los Angeles Times reported.
"There is no military solution to this situation," the director-general of the IAEA said. "It's inconceivable. The only durable solution is a negotiated solution."
