Breaking News: Hundreds Of Students March On Santa Rosa City Hall
Posted 10:15 am Friday March 31, 2006
Hundreds of Santa Rosa high school students are marching on city hall this morning. Students began walking out of their classrooms at 9:30 and gathered at Santa Rosa Junior College.

Marchers told TV 50 News that the group is marching to protest proposed changes to immigration law. They began their walk down Medocino Avenue just before 1030 to cheers and honking horns. Police are shadowing the group and traffic has slowed dramatically in the downtown corridor, however, so far the march is being described as "peaceful."

The march is set to end with a rally at city hall, and calls for the city council to fight the proposed changes in immigration laws.

Sheepish Americans look at France in horror when students take the streets en masse to protest, but I'm impressed because they don't take any kind of bullshit from their government. Maybe the seeds are being sewn here!!!

Far cry from protesting the Iraq mess in such a manner.

3. just got back from a walk to the park
the park is across the street from the local high school which had large walkouts monday and tuesday. at the park there are 7 cop cars and a paddy wagon so i assume they expect something to happen today. im watching the situation and will report back if any trouble ensues
