Email I received: THE WAR ON CHRISTIANS
We aren't finding fault with Bush, Delay and the rest of the crime squad because they are criminals, we are attacking them because they are Christian.
This is their latest form of pity to get their base all excited and behind them...poor, poor Republicans! We have to make sure we are prepared for this and can't let them hijack our values and our beliefs and twist them again!

2. Calvinists don't feel compelled to tell the truth
to avoid stealing, adultery, or even murder. Their belief gives them a pre punched ticket to heaven.

These men are not Christians. They are Calvinists.

Damn right there's a war against them, and the sooner we win it, the better.

4. Asking for them to show simple respect for others is an "attack".
But they have no problem sharing worship with unrepentant hypocrites, blasphemers, thieves & mass murderers.

18. I'm planning a conference entitled "The Christians' War on the World"
We will have sessions and speakers on such topics as the Crusades and Inquisition, how 'witnessing' interferes with personal lives, why are Bibles in every hotel room, and the American Taliban's Agenda. I will be lecturing on how the 'Unitary Executive' theory is overshadowing our God-given rights as human beings.

Now all I need are other presenters and extensive media coverage!

19. Don't forget Rod Parsley's connection to KEN BLACKWELL
Edited on Fri Mar-31-06 05:26 PM by MelissaB
There is a lot of info in ER&D, especially in the Sunday daily threads, but here is a link.

AP Enterprise: Blackwell schedule shows more contact with pastors

ANDREW WELSH-HUGGINS
Associated Press
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell has met with two conservative pastors more often than alleged in an IRS complaint accusing the pastors of improper support of his campaign for governor, according to a review of documents by The Associated Press.

While the complaint looked at nine publicly reported events sponsored by the pastors, a review of Blackwell's daily schedule found 18 other meetings or other contact with the pastors, including flights on a church-owned plane, meetings in Blackwell's office and attendance at church services.

Blackwell, a Republican and favorite of conservatives, had contact with pastors Russell Johnson and Rod Parsley or their churches 27 times from January 2004 through March of this year, according to AP research, including a review of Blackwell's confidential schedule obtained through a public records request.

That's more than a third of the total number of events with a religious theme listed on Blackwell's schedule and represents the largest number of contacts with specific pastors.

20. More about Parsley

Evangelicals Flex Political Muscle

...snip

Preaching from the pulpit against same-sex marriage, legalized abortion, and pornography, Parsley and the Rev. Russell Johnson, pastor of the Fairfield Christian Church in Lancaster, Ohio, drew acclaim in 2004 for their leadership in a successful drive to pass a constitutional ban on gay marriage in the state.

The ballot measure enticed a surprising number of evangelicals to the polls, where they also cast votes for President Bush and were a decisive factor in his razor-thin 118,000-vote victory margin in Ohio, giving him the national election. Conservatives' victories in Ohio this year could give Republicans an edge in retaining the presidency in 2008.

Parsley has formed two political offshoots: the Center for Moral Clarity and Reformation Ohio. Johnson, whose congregants are beginning to run successfully for political posts such as county sheriff and city council, also has formed an offshoot called the Ohio Restoration Project. The groups aim to organize "patriot pastors" to use their churches to register voters, develop sermons that focus on conservative themes and remind residents to "vote their values" on Election Day. Under IRS rules, the groups can register voters and discuss issues and candidates but cannot endorse candidates or engage in partisan politics.

"For too long, the values that we have held dear have been trampled underfoot, while we are the largest special interest group in Ohio and in America today, and I say 'Enough is enough,'" thunders Parsley during a recent rally.
