"Turn the other cheek"? Jesus was obviously no dodgeballer.
LIBERTY, Missouri (AP) -- A youth minister was charged with assault for allegedly knocking down a 16-year-old boy and kicking him in the groin after taking a head shot from the teen in a dodgeball game.

David M. Boudreaux, 27, was charged Wednesday with one count of third-degree assault. According to court documents, the incident happened in February at Crescent Lake Christian Academy.

Authorities said the teen missed Boudreaux with one throw but then knocked the youth minister's glasses off with the next.

1. I'm no great athlete and even less a minister but it seems to me
as if dodgeball isn't the very most definitive Christian game out there.

Picturing the apostles playing dodgeball with Jesus... well, it just doesn't work for me.

4. I'm thinking badminton.
Polite, quite game with few reports of deadly assaults.

At least, until this bordeaux guy decides to play. Then it's time to grab you badminton racket and kids and run for the hills!

5. Well - what Jesus actually said -
"What so ever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me."

I am definately with Jesus on this one.

6. Good heavens!
Minister Malcolm X often said that turning the other cheek might imply breaking the other guy's jaw, but I do not think he meant in the context of dodgeball.

8. He didn't say that -
He said - "What-so-ever-you-do, to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.

I became a real christian the day I really understood that.

10. I have a real problem with leaving out my premise -
No - Malcom didn't say that, didn't say a lot of things, really.

However, Jesus did say just that.

Consider the words - "What so ever you do" - meaning everybody - "to the least of my brothers" -everybody - "that you do unto me"

He sure sold me.

So, yeah, I am a good christian here.

ANd being a good christian means understanding those words, beautiful words. Root of our religion.

It is the pretext of Christianity.

Joe
