What do you have against Africans? Africans would like some Quarter Pounders here.
And when Africa is illegally emptied into out borders;

What about India? Indians would like some workplace safety and conditions.
What do you have against India?

And when those two countries are illegally inside our borders;
What about China?
Chinses people need freedom too.

Come on people. You can't be so bigotted as to feel sympathy with Hispanics alone, are you?

:sarcasm:

2. most of those people enter other nations closer to them illegally
Europe has the same problem with illegal and legal immigration. in fact it's worse over there than here. the fact we are in a sense "a land of immigrants" helps from it becoming as bad as it does there.

and again, it's not amnesty we are debating here.

3. IMO the Americas should have open boards with all other American nations..
Easy and free travel and immigration should be a goal throughout these continents.

5. Why do you call it amnesty?
You know that is the word the right wing is using to turn people against Democrats don't you? Why do you use the word and help them?

A $2,000 fine. Uninterrupted work record. Learning English and civics. Paying back taxes. No criminal record. Waiting until all current immigrants have had their turn.

How do you figure that's amnesty?

6. Not to sound snarky...

But Africa is a continent, not a country. I's constantly amazed that people treat the largest continent as if it's a homogeneous country. That being said, I understand and agree with what you're trying to say...:hi:

9. I was going to pick an African country, but wanted to keep it simple
and make a point. That we would get flooded and our standard of living would drop, like water seeking the lowest averaging level.

7. I must be missing something. There are folks from all sorts of nations
here illegally. People either get in illegally or their legit visas expire and they don't go back home. Are the provisions of any proposed immigration bill nationality specific?

10. Amnesty is merely a single word that expresses a complex idea
It's a commonality of terms which assumes a basis of understanding for brevity.

We liberals seem to love to get tripped flat -over small details.
We would do well to learn the reason that Republican talking points work.

Nobody has given a logical premise which supports the conclusion;
"We should allow illegal aliens into America and allow them to lower wages and allow corporations to exploit workers. And we should not limit it to Mexico. We should MFN all other nation states."

Please tell me how this benefits Americans and America as a nation state. I really can't see it. If we want to give our wages and protections up to help other suffering people, then we have to pick favorites -limit free entry to selected nationalities. Or get levelled to the floor.
