1. Lindsey Graham is kind of like McCain
he will say things at times to make it seem like he isn't so bad. but he will always go along with the administration in the end.

4. How'd you like the NEW history of Nixon and Watergate?
I couldn't believe what I heard. Then it occurred to me.

He's running. He needs the Imprimatur of the crazies.

This will help...

...with the crazies.

8. I didn't hear all of it, just the end
....when basically he said he agreed with Feingold but that censure would destroy all the good work being done by the NSA to protect us from ter-rists.

9. he pretty much accused John Dean of ordering the watergate breakins
Then called Dean a crook who went to jail (which he didnt).

Then he tried to say watergate was irrelevant. Apples to oranges.

Then he said that censure investigations should only apply to break-ins and sex crimes of presidents. Bill of rights matters are not important I guess???

Then he said the censure would destroy the "program" and endanger us - not that I know what program hes talking about.

Hes still showing off his stupidity on CSPAN right now.

10. here's a video from Bradblog with comments
If any of you want to see how ignorant Lindsey Graham is about American history, and how willing he is to explain away Bush's lawbreaking in the NSA spying debacle, watch C-SPAN's coverage tonight of him getting slapped around by John Dean at today's hearing on Feingold's censure resolution. In the short audio clip that Randi Rhodes just played on her Air America show, it was all Dean could do to keep from yelling out "Senator, you are a fucking moron" as he corrected Graham's distortions and ignorance about Watergate.

I've lost any remaining respect I had for the bootlicking, buffoonish Graham after this. I sure hope his parents didn't pay for that pathetic education, because if they did, they need to demand a refund.

11. total ignorance of Watergate history (How could he know? He was just...
...a little kid when this all occurred).

He asked John Dean if Nixon ordered the break-in.

"No."

Then he asked John Dean if he himself ordered the break-in.

So, the "impeachment manager" is oblivious to the history of impeachment.

You gotta see it to believe it.

22. I fell outta of my chair over that dialog. Graham plays both ends
against the middle and will go which ever way the wind blows. He can spin both ways at the same time.

I was so fucking angry, because he wouldn't let Dean correct him on his bullshit, and then Specter came to his recuse, when Leahy jumped into the fray. The day will come when he'll be slapped down by someone like George Galloway as he did to Norm Coleman.

This is an effort to attract blind, classic Republicans.

He's sure using the right bait.

14. Wait a minute...what do you expect?
There's a censure resolution against the president who's a member of his party. Is he going give Russ a big kiss on the lips? No.

Graham did advocate the need for more congressional oversight over the program. He went against the Unitary Executive line that the Admin. has been pushing. This is very important. I didn't agree with the bulk of what Senator Graham advocated, but I'm not ready to demonize him yet.

15. I expect Congress to live up to their oath, protect the Constitution -
they didn't take an oath to protect their party leadership. Ask the Democrats who voted for impeachment and censure of Clinton how to do it if they need some guidance.

Its hard to see how Sen Graham can say he wants the Prez to follow Graham's proposed law giving NSA 45 days to wiretap before they get warrants from the FISA court, but doesn't think it's against the law that the Prez didn't get the same warrants from FISA when they had to do it within 72 hours of starting surveillance. I wish they had transcripts available, you wouldn't believe how idiotic this man was twisting logic to cover the White House.

16. I remember U.S. Representative Lindsey Graham . . .
.

I remember U.S. Representative Lindsey Graham . . . pontificating into C-Span microphones and cameras while on the floor of the U.S. House of Representative w/ vitriolic overtones: "HE LY-AHHD, HE LY-AHHD!!" "YES, HE LY-AHHD, HE LY-AHHD!!"

But this wasn't about George Walker Bush. Oh, hell no! This occurred during the house impeachment proceedings in the U.S. House of Representatives and while Graham was a "house manager" (a House "prosecutor") in the Senate while then Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist oversaw that circus.

Yup. Lindsey Graham used the American people and then-president Clinton to get to where he is today: a U.S. Senator. So, do you think he's got any character or morality to say it like it is today about George Walker Bush?

on both Democrats and repukes. I can not help but think a lot of folks in congress are being blackmailed with their dirty little secrets. I envision Lindsey in women's lingerie.

23. I Never Trusted That Weasel From The Clinton Inquisition
He comes off with that aw-gee-shucks country-boy charm and then rams it up your backside. The guy's not even consistant when he lies.

IIRC, during the ScAlito hearings, he claimed he had a lot of questions about the illegal wiretapping program and other abuses of this regime. Well, Lindsay, WTF are you? Or was that just the usual bullshit?

I have no clue where this dude was in 1973, but it sure wasn't anywhere near a television or newspaper since his "recollections" of Watergate sure aren't the one John Dean or I remember. The shithead couldn't get into his mellon that Nixon wasn't guilty of planning the break-in...but the cover-up. Just like asshat has no clue whose being tapped or for what...and I'll bet his knowledge is little at best (how much knowledge can you have in an already addled brain??) and he's cover-up the same damn way.

Graham's got his own Presidential plans. He's both smart and smarmy...and appears from time to time to suck in a Democrat or two. This dude needs to be watched constantly and very carefully.
