Rice Faces Cancellations and Catcalls on British Visit
BLACKBURN, England, March 31 — Jack Straw, the British foreign secretary, invited his friend Condoleezza Rice, the secretary of state, home for the weekend to see a soccer match, in return for his visit last fall to Birmingham, Ala., where he watched a college football game. But just before Ms. Rice arrived, the Blackburn Rovers rescheduled their match for Monday night, to maximize the television audience. So instead Mr. Straw showed her around the Rovers' empty stadium. While it seemed a metaphor for her visit to Britain, it was also a moment of welcome calm in a trip plagued by sometimes raucous demonstrations against the war in Iraq.

Ms. Rice had wanted to meet Paul McCartney while she was here. But he declined the invitation, and so Ms. Rice visited the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts, where the former Beatle, and now Sir Paul, was once a student. She listened to a brief choral presentation in the Paul McCartney theater. Half-a-dozen students, with the school director's permission, lined up just inside the school's front door and stood with arms crossed over black T-shirts that read: "No torture. No compromise."

2. Another success for Condi Rice
I'm sure this will go dowwn in the lexicon of Rice's successes, like 911 ("whoever would have thought that terrorists would fly airplanes into buildings?")
Heckuva job, Condi

3. Condi: feeling the love yet? Tired of spreading "democracy" to the world?
If you're such a stupid woman that you can't see what you're doing is wrong, you shouldn't be in the position you're in. But considering who the top man is, it makes perfect sense.

Condi should be ashamed of herself, as should everyone in the Bush Administration and everyone who voted these evil people into office, or cheated to make it appear they won the elections legitimately.

Inside all of us there is an inner core of truth, and we all know that what is going on in the world today is wrong, wrong, wrong.

Those who have participated in this will have to explain their actions to their maker some day. It won't be pretty.

17. If the Imperial Family and their Cronies had shame
they wouldn't be who they are.

Saying that Sleezy Rice should be ashamed is like saying the Trojan Horse should graze on grass.

5. I think it's pretty amazing they canceled a football game
claiming there was lack of audience, it was their polite way of saying no way we want her here

10. The message is loud and clear.
Even our closet allies home country will not welcome us any longer. In what has seemed like an eternity for most of us this pResident has destroyed so many relationships.

"rescheduled . . . to maximize the TV audience," "declined the invitation" -- these are euphemisms for "go eff yourself your war-criminal lying sack of putrid monkey guts, and take your s**t-stain of a fake 'president' with you." :)

12. Yes, it's finally starting. Soon, they're only safe to visit hellholes.
And hopefully some day not them either. This admin will either be bunkered or imprisoned.
Either way, they won't be flying around the world on our dime.

8. Imus once referred to Dr. Rice as "a lyin' ho."
Yup. Such a Faustian contract this woman has with BushCo, and what a cost it has exacted on U.S. diplomacy.

I cheer the British people who showed up to protest Condiliar's appearance.

11. How full of yourself would you have to be to
think that you could merely ask to meet Paul McCartney and it would be done? That's one "hugh" (as freepers would tell you) sense of entitlement. He probably said "no" not only because she's a murderous, worthless POS, but also because of the presumption that meeting her is something he'd want to do in the first place.
