Maury Povich and Connie Chung have a show on MSNBC... I
caught the first segment on the new Memo about Bush wanting war so bad he would try to trick Saddam into firing on a faux UN Plane.
As any American would understand it is quite serious for the President of the US to "manipulate" the facts to push for war. People, especially our brave soldiers, die in war. But, Connie brushed it off as "Old" news why bother, "We Knew the President wanted war with Iraq!" She stated. Then they had put together some tonger and cheek memos between Blair and Bush on how to provoke Saddam. I found it quite distasteful!!! Then they had a London correspondent on who explained quite clearly why the memo was relevant and Maury was on the President, "maybe not lied but did massage the facts" to lead us to war but still Connie took the who cares attitude.

Needless to say I zipped off an email explaining my disgust with both the faux memos between Bush and Blair and especially my disgust with the Lazy-fare attitude of Connie to a very serious matter...

...I thought it was distasteful to make "Memo" parodies about quite a serious subject. Connie's view point was also to flippant and naive. More and more proof has mounted that our President and his staff manipulated the intel to shape the public opinion on war with Iraq. This "shaping" of the intel amounts to lying and though it is in the past I would like Connie to talk to the families of the brave men and women who have died in this war that was NOT needed and see what they think of our President LYING us into war.

thanks for your time

1. It's an unwatchable show.
I have tried twice to give it a fair hearing. It is a factless mish mash of off the cuff observations from disinterested hosts. Your anecdote nails it perfectly. They should take their money and go sit in the sun somewhere if this is how hard they want to work.

3. When Maury was here in Philly years ago...
well, suffice it to say that he's not the most desirable human being on the planet. there were lots and lots of stories.

that being said, I can't stand the dynamic between the two. I'd actually rather watch Carville and Matalin and she, SHE, is the second most repulsive person on TV.

5. I caught that, too.
Forget for a moment that the UN plane plot is no laughing matter, their "joke" memos weren't even funny on their own terms. Not in the least. The ONLY people laughing were Connie & Maury.

For Connie to dismiss the "new" memo as irrelevant, old news was delporable. This memo and the plots it reveals demonstrate George W. Bush's bad faith, confirm the fact that he LIED us into war, and show that he continues to lie when he says that he only went to war with Iraq as a last resort.

I can only imagine what would happen if any other President in the history of the United States were shown to have suggested something so duplicitous as painting a US plane in UN colors in order to tempt a foreign power to fire on it.

9. saw Connie on the Colbert Report
maybe a week or so ago.
She sounded really ditzy and especially out of it, just giggling and nodding. She just didn't seem well in the head.

I remember her when she had her CNN thing, never did like her, but she's really gone even more downhill from there.
