Laura Bush to campaign at "birthplace of the Bush DYNASTY"

First lady Laura Bush will return to Greenwich, birthplace of the Bush political dynasty, for an April 24 fundraiser in Greenwich to benefit the state GOP and its congressional delegation, including the re-election campaign of Rep. Christopher Shays.

Invitations went out yesterday to local Republicans, telling them to save the date for an evening reception headlined by the first lady. Details on the time and location of the event were not included, nor was the cost of attending.

Greenwich has been home to multiple generations of Bushes, including former President George H.W. Bush and his father, the late Prescott Bush, who served as U.S. senator from Connecticut. The president's uncle and second cousin still live in town.

"It's an honor to have the first lady show her support," Shays campaign manager Michael Sohn said.
