2. You really don't want refunds IMHO
You gave the government an interest free loan. It never would have done that for you. I try my hardest to break even or pay just a little. I can't stand giving them an interest free loan.

3. Well I understand that government needs my money
for social services, defense, government medical and scientific research et.... However, it is harder and harder to give my money to it in the form of taxes with the way it is being spent so irresponsibly I will admit.

4. We know that Boycotts work-especially when big $$$ is involved!!
Let us stop supporting the Treason to our Constitution and to the American people playing out hourly in our faces. The destruction of our beautiful planet. USA Bankruptcy - Evils by Corporations & * Gov't- too numerous to mention-all aimed at destruction of our Liberty-Truth-Justice-Equality- a job with wages adequate to live on, with single payer national health care for all citizens & a world class education system.

End of War Now!! Not 1 more tax payment until this Treason is punished-that means The Executive Branch & the Congress (except for Barbara Boxer & Russ Feingold).

Haven't We Had Enough Yet??!!
Have YOU had enough yet??

You know that if we march to the WH they will have tanks in the streets mowing us down.

Do what speakes just as loudly---No Taxes Paid on April 15th!! It will work if only 10-15 million of us say' NO' more support for you guys!

The alternative to stopping these mass murderers NOW is the death of our planet in nuclear war soon after Iran is attacked .

What are we willing to do?

6. Well who needs the constitution anyhow
By not paying your taxes you are violating the constitution and therefore you have become as bad as they are.

13. See 16th amendment
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

5. Good question
This is an issue I've dealt with every year since the coup. My money is being used to torture and kill people, further enrich the vulgar lifestyle of bush cronies and supporters, and grease the fascist machine that is now my country.

There have been "tax protesters" since the beginning of time, so I suppose there's little to differentiate my feelings from those of the millions of others who have felt somehow "compromised" when paying their taxes over the centuries. Of course, I feel these are "special circumstances." But that's what they all say.

Having said all that, though, it would be an effective way to shut down the bush murder machine by eliminating its funding. But unless "everyone" does it, my refusal to pay would only bring harm to me and accomplish nothing. So, like every year, I'll pony up what's due.

7. I guess for the same reason that
I have a problem with the "not one more death, not one more dollar" slogan that our Peace Action group has adopted.
It made me very angry when I first heard it- and I distanced myself from the group, stubbornly, because as I said to my children, if it was a question of money, I'd give every last frickin penny I have to stop the war and aggression, and oppression that our government is sponsoring.

I realize that money fuels the military, but they are going to print up more money to get what they want anyway- It's like schools whose funding gets cut- Do they begin by reducing the high salaries of the administrators? Or do they cut after-school programs, and sports and music and art?....
It's the principal of the thing, not the money-

Maybe I'm wrong- but I feel many Republicans are led to vote the way they do, because they are being led by their bankbooks. I'm not rich, and have little material wealth, but I vote my concience- Money is paper and metal, It's peoples lives, and this planet that I care about- more than all the money in this sad old world.

9. Because If We Don't, We'll Support It Later With Interest And Penalties
Tax resistance is not an option if you have a job or any assets.
If you have neither, you hopefully don't owe any taxes anyway.

14. Trust me, it's bad enough when you make an honest mistake. I don't
even want to imagine if you deliberately didn't pay taxes for a year or more.

10. I think the tax burden should shift 100% to corporate income taxes...
...with no loopholes... a straight percentage of their revenue. Then, just let everything else sort itself out. Companies could make up for it with lower salaries and/or higher prices... Individuals wouldn't pay so they could make do with lower gross salaries. Administratively, dealing with just companies would be easier than corporations + all individuals.

Just a thought. Even as a liberal, I think our tax system is too pervasive.

11. Because one thing the government does do well
and that is collect what we owe it.

A tax protest will not get us where we want to go. It will just get some put in jail.

We can get what we want, IF we can get the voting machines under control.

for suggesting that people break the law.
