but if the fundies get their way and redefine marriage as the lifetime right of legal rape for the male, it's gonna be really hard to keep dressing it up in white satin and orange blossoms.

It is clear you have continued this from the other thread. Do you have evidence that the man convicted of rape was NOT a democrat OR that the jury that convicted him wasn't a jury of republicans? This is a social issue, even a religious issue, but it isn't a political issue quite as clearly as you seem to want to make it. Now I agree that the extreme christians are republicans and that they are hoping to overrun the republicans, but as yet I don't see that happening to their preference. And in fact the court case that seems to have you all stirred up, was decided in favor of the allegedly raped wife, what more do you want? Just to rant?
