2. I just read the Graphic Novel, and I now have a serious question:
When making a paper-maché mask, can I speed up
the drying time with a hair dryer?

4. Might consider Sculpey.....
Edited on Mon Apr-03-06 12:41 AM by darkmaestro019
It sucks abysmally for small fragile shapes, but for shapes with reasonable bulk to them (the mask seems about right) it's fantastic. It's like play-doh and once you get it where you want it you bake it in the oven. Comes out feeling rather like plastic. Little smoother and more paintable than I remember paper-mache being.

Once someone gets the sense to SELL nice mockups of that mask they're gonna make a mint...

6. I don't care much for Sculpey.
Just a personal thing; I prefer natural, 'old-school' materials for
all my sculptural work.

Sculpey is too...'plastic' to really appeal to me.
Newspaper, flour and water: WooHoo!

7. : ) That's true.....
I was thinking of the glassy quality the mask seems to have in the movie, but you're right, medium says as much as what you make out of the medium.

I've had good luck with Sculpey for modifying various figures and toys, but it's not much good for much else.

9. Actually, on second thought, I'm glad you mentioned it.
I have another project I am gearing up for,
for Christmas 2006...

I'm going to modify a few dolls into personalized "action figures"
of people I know, with full packaging and "sold seperately"
packs of doll clothing/accessories for their hobbies.

SCULPEY is the PERFECT answer to my problem, and you just gave it to me!

I owe ya one.
