Numbers that will be hidden. See www.icasualties.org

Conservatives don't want the facts known.

2. Yep
Except he IS running two.So you need to add deaths in Afghanistan...I saw an earlier post that referenced approximately 285 there....and posited that another "attack" might have to occur in-country prior to total casualties from his wars surpassed the 9-11 totals..Sadly even people on this board are perfectly ok accepting that deaths of US service people in Afghanistan are legitimate...

3. Thanks for reminding everyone of that number, Erika...
...we need to remember each soldier.

The cost of this war is just so high.

It's a total failure. It was based on lies and now it's a complete debacle. This war has no redeeming value. It will not make our lives better...or safer.

Each of those 2,332 lives was precious and valuable--but each death was a senseless, unnecessary tragedy. They are all noble people who died for a cause that was not noble.

And you're right--we don't hear much about the number of casualties any more. We only hear about it when we hit a milestone. So I guess we'll have to wait until we reach 3,000. So sad.

4. You're Welcome
I am just so relieved my nephew is home safe after his 2nd tour. We can't forget about the others.

W and the republicans are mum on the fatalities. That alone should produce anger.

5. I'm glad your nephew is home safe...
I can't imagine having a close relative over there. It would be heartbreaking and it would also make me angry.

Again, I'm glad he is home safe.

:)

8. It's so sad how quickly the number is growing.
I posted this pic a short while ago, about a week. It makes me so sad to change the spools, and it changes by about two every day. I honor these lives, and their family and friends' lives by wearing this pin. When people comment on it, I'm able to enlighten them about this horrible, illegal situation the nitwit and his malicious troop have gotten us into.
I usually remind people to multiply the number by at least 25 to get the true effect of the number of people affected...mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandmas and grandpas, friends, colleagues. It is so very sad.

9. Be sure to read the stories on the right hand side of the site.
It really gives a clear idea of the quagmire in Iraq, and there are also tributes posted by the local newspapers of the soldiers lost. I "like" to read about them, their lives and dreams. It gives so much meaning to the cold numbers.
