he's being interviewed via satellite trying to defend the invasion of Iraq, and is claiming that Saddam was planning to fill aerosol cans with toxic gases and ship them to Europe and the USA for use in terrorist acts. You gotta love his line (paraphrasing): "I know this hasn't been in the media in Australia, or Europe, or the United States for that matter, but it really is true!"

If I recall correctly, Saddam is assassinated, and Iraq and Iran merge together under Iranian religious control. They plan to invade Saudi Arabia, and to keep the U.S. at bay they introduce ebola from aerosol spray cans in the U.S., causing a mass shutdown of American society.

I won't bore you with the details, but rest assured that in the end President Jack Ryan finds 1 regular army unit and 1 national guard unit who make it to Saudi in time to wipe out the Iran/Iraq army and save the world. And oh yeah, the disease goes away too.

I sometimes wonder if * doesn't think he is Clancy's Jack Ryan character.

It certainly seems this Gaffney fellow is taking cues from fiction. But hey, that's nothing new for these people!
