1. Yes, I heard some of it as I was getting ready for work
The right wingers calling in just couldn't believe this retired general woudln't shut up and leave their fearless leader alone. They are all hypocrites being that they took shot at the previous president and then approve of their present president breaking the law.

3. I listened to the early part of the interview . . .
But had to turn it off when I rolled into the parking lot at work. I was impressed by how professional and low-bullshit he was. No foaming at the mouth or barely-concealed hate of Schimpanski (something I'M not capable of anymore); just the facts, ma'am.

I don't doubt for a moment that the ravers who called in ran aground at his feet.

4. Yup, that one who brought up patriotism...
Edited on Mon Apr-03-06 10:09 AM by BullGooseLoony
He just smacked them the fuck DOWN. Took a good three minutes to do it, point after point. Beat them relentlessly, like a red-headed mule. It was certainly beautiful.

On edit: I wanted him to say something like, "Shutting up while your leadership continually makes mistakes is how you flush your country down the toilet." But, he said more or less the same thing, differently. Brought up Teddy Roosevelt. He was brilliant.

11. They're damned ugly mules.
They deserve to be beaten.

Same as rented step-children.

13. Is this a saying connected to a particular region? I am curious about
these things. And are red-headed kids anything like red-headed mules?

14. Don't tell me you'd beat a child just because of the color of their hair.
A mule, sure. Or a child, based on their ownership status.

But, geez...beating a young carrot-top for the sake of it? Cruel.

;)

15. Well I would never beat a child or a mule for any reason. Number one it
is counter productive in both cases and number two, it is wrong in both cases, as it is an abuse of power.

But I am curious about colloqialisms and their origins.

5. This should prove most effective as a dividing tactic
We can't hope for the majority of Repubs to denounce the party...but the idea of "I'm Republican, but I can still criticize the president" will put us a major step closer to impeachment.

i didn't see him this morning but did catch him on one of the Sunday morning shows.

He was *great*!

I did wonder: when he was talking about the bothched job in Iraq , he frequently mentioned how 10 years of planning were thown out.

What was that about?
