All DUers have to consider is that Howard Dean was considered the "inevitable nominee" last time, and Gary Hart I think had this mantle with an earlier election.

So the "inevitable nominee" conventional wisdom hasn't been all that inevitable.

Because he's been told she is going to be the candidate for years and they just don't know any better. Most people are not like us, they do not follow any of the politics closely and they go along with the crowd. Do you think Kerry would have been the nominee if all Democrats really knew the candidates or followed politics closely? I don't. All you have to do is win early in the primaries and you become "the guy" because everyone else just follows along. That's why I hate our primary system. We should all go on the same day with no one state setting the course. I think you would get a better sense of who the people want that way because there is no influence. Howard Dean probably would have run away with the nomination last time if we all went on the same day.

The Democrats I hear who want Hillary are the ones who basically have no clue about politics. Everyone else who wants her to run are the Republicans, so they can kill her.

I'm supporting her, so far, unless Gore gets in the race. Contrary to what you say, I feel she's got the best chance to win in the general of any of the main candidates, and I have no idea why you think Dems would feel otherwise. Dems on DU, maybe, since there has been such a huge disinformation campaign here to make her look conservative, but outside of DU Dems have a more realistic opinion of her.

I could change my support rather quickly as things change, but it sure won't be because I fall for that "Hillary is a conservative" bullshit. Her voting record is one of the most liberal in the Senate.

primary candidates and she may or may not get my vote but if she is on the ticket for the General election I will vote for her happily - and I won't apologize to anyone for it either. Hillary is an excellent candidate if you don't buy into the reichwing smear machine's BS. Is she the best at this point in time? There are things she has supported that I don't like but there are more actions that I do like. We are still two years away from the primary fight. A lot can happen between now and the convention so let's keep our powder dry.

It is good to try to read between the lines of what the MSM is doing and ask why are they doing it.

Just because MSM IS talking about Clinton, lets me know that somebody is really pushing Hillary and wanting to shove this idea down dumb asses throats for a reason, maybe it is because if it is said often enough it will become true and accepted. We need to be diligent about safegaurding against letting others pick our candidates and that is what is happening, somebody is trying to pick the Dem Candidate for us AGAIN.
