Very unusual for Southern California, where it "never rains".
It sure is raining these days. Heavy rains are still expected.

I think we are actually close to average for the season
It has been raining consistently since mid-Feb (about 2 storms a week), which is a bit frequent, but it was very dry in the months prior

5. Every so often we get a very wet rainy season..and then go |
|
years with little rain. In itself it's not all that unusual.. What IS funny as hell is to see the newsfolks get all apoplectic.. They get their raingear and boots and go stand on freeways with cameras trained on trickles of water and go berserk with their commentary..
And of course they get out their "Doppler XX Triple Whammy 4000, Super-Duper radar" and the helicopters too..
They love real weather but flip out when it actually happens :)

9. i hear we actually don't have much rain compared to previous times |
|
one thing is that i don't think we had much if any rain last year during the fall/winter months.
personally i like the rain. but i kind of feel sorry for those coming here for their spring break and facing wetter and colder weather than back home.

6. Agreed, we are having N. Calif. weather patterns here... |
|
in Los angeles for the last two months. In fact it's been like Portland or Seattle. We barely get a chance to dry out and then WHAM, here comes another front.... Jeez..it's supposed to be Spring.

They talked big, and nothing came of it.
Now as to LAST year - that was one to write home about.
