New Orleans Could Take 25 More Years To Recover
read full story here http://www.dekdout.com/index.php?page=article&id=80

"The Bush Administration today said that it could take another 25 years for New Orleans to fully recover from damages caused by Hurricane Katrina.

Powell says the costs are rising by the minute. The Army Corps of Engineers estimates that it will take another $5.9 billion to repair the levees and ensure maximum safety for the 1.1+ million people living in New Orleans.

The White House has asked for $108 billion to cater for all the construction costs, but Congress has only approved 19 billion."

its amazing huh, $108 billion!??

2. If it lasts that long
With the global warming induced hurricane seasons, I don't think building the levees just the way they used to be is going to cut it.

4. We might want to have the Amish rebuild New Orleans.
It would be good as new in two weeks.
