Wars should be fought with swords - not bombs
Maybe, just maybe, there would be fewer wars if people had to muster up some real courage to do battle.

8. I've always thought something similar......
A contest. Each country choose a champion. The winner wins, period. (Yeah, I know, you'd need the ACTUAL war to enforce that, but let's pretend the countries involved have honor and keep their word to abide by the results)

I thought of televised armed combat, but yeah, I guess a nonviolent battle of wits would work too. (Though it would probably get lower ratings ; )

4. The warmongers should be forced to fight with each
other. If the ones that call for War were forced to do hand to hand combat maybe there would be less Wars.

9. There you go!
Each country's leader gets to go in the Thunderdome. That's about what I had in mind. (helpless image of Bush with a tiny Rove on his back to guide his dumb ass....with Chavez bristling armor and clearly getting most of the cheers, lol....)

6. How about NO "wars". All disputes are mediated by a neutral third party.
<snip>
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

12. Star Trek TNG!! MAKE IT SO, NUMBER ONE!!
I used to watch that with my boys every day, every day, when they were much, much younger. What a great, inspirational show that taught wonderful life lessons.

Like watching Fury and Sky King.

15. Yes, either him or especially in later episodes, John Sheridan or Delenn.
Oh or perhaps... Mr. Spock (or the actor that plays him... Leonard Nimoy). :D

11. even in the days of David & Goliath, they sometimes settled for
one guy from each side fighting it out, so as not to slaughter all the homies

14. rocks and sticks
Some people really want to fight, not to negotiate
or make peace. Those peopel, who aren't satisfied with
xbox and paintball, can join the rocks and sticks army.

There they can square off in a square mile of ground,
1000 against 1000 people. And they fight until people give
up, or one side wins... and they pay full price for medical
services at the sidelines for various concussions, abrasions
and the occasional broken limb.

Then the promoters can make money on the medical concessions.

16. That reminds me of this Albert Einstein quote...
"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

17. that's the quote
I was figurin' that if they could get to the sticks and stones part directly without
passing the world war IV part. :-)

Let the stupid kill each other if they want to,
i'm all for free will, as long as they can keep
it to consenting adults without firearms.
Heck they could fight nekkid like old athenians.

21. Instead of wars, we should just have international online Halo tournaments
Of course, Lieberman wouldn't stand for that, he'd be much happier having a war where real people get killed
