-yeah, that's right. I said "QUIT" - unless he were GUILTY of the charges. And just maybe God doesn't like people PRETENDING to be Christians just to get some votes!

1. It's a republican ploy I tells ya
They are trying to appear as if they are all squeaky clean and censure and admonish their own. Well, we all know this is just the tip of the iceburg, be ready for more to come!:D

I've been making armor (don't ask) which has involved breaking the screw thingy off of MANY hose clamps (don't ask, lol) and it's tedious cos I have to do it with pliers--back and forth, back and forth, for a brazillion years, bendy bend--it's never gonna break--and then there's that satisfying, subaudible little CRACK--and suddenly it falls apart in your hand......when it seemed unbreakable a second ago.

4. I saw him on local news a few minutes ago
Don't you know that he is resigning because the investigation being brought upon him by the libruls are putting a stress on his family and making the race for District 22 nothing more than a referendum on him instead of the issues? :sarcasm:

Ok, now back in the real world. He knew that the investigation was going on and that it wasn't a party. So, why didn't he drop out before the primaries last month? I mean, really, if that was really why he was leaving, he would have left before the primary, not get his name on the ballot and then drop out. Maybe his attempt to get his gun back was a sign. He was going to use it to kill himself, but they said "Sorry, Tommy, you've been indicted as felon, no gun!"...So he cursed the libruls for the gun control laws, and decided that he had to resign. Someone in the GOP has taken Hot Tub Tommy to the woodshed.

As a resident of District 22, I say GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!!

the aide was gonna sing a song about Tommy.

Picture becoming clearer?

12. I disagree.
He was not electable this cycle. Now the seat is a safe seat again, and Tommy can make his millions in lobbying prior to his trial. I doubt he will ever be tried, much less convicted. He will never serve a day, and will probably be rehabilitated and recycled to serve in a later Republican administration.

23. What a friggin scam he pulled on his 'constitutents'. They should all
be angry as hell, especially the ones who contributed large sums of money. But they won't be. They would much rather flush money down a toilet than pay $20 more in taxes that might be going to help somebody in need.

They just don't get it...don't want to get it and don't see anything wrong with the way their repukes continue to break the law.

1. * could always pardon Delay pre-trial.
2. Delay could replace any number of people who will leave the WH in the coming purge.

15. WH is too vindictive for that...
a couple of months ago DeLay pushed a media meme that he was never that close to bushco (when bush's numbers began to really tank) - that their's was an uneasy working alliance rather than a friendship/eager allies. Roveco certainly remembers that bit of sticking to to bush while trying to shine up DeLays self-image. And Roveco is the only entity that out DeLays DeLay's hardball political tactics.

18. Pardon..
... maybe. Position anywhere near as powerful as house leader? Not a chance, not even 1%.

Bask in the win folks. There is no downside to what is happening to Delay here. He became corrupt, he broke the law and now he will pay.

I really believe there is another indictment hanging over his head. Either that, or he knows they've got the current case against him nailed down tight.

These creeps never give up if there is some chance to weasel out. Delay knows, somehow, that he is not going to weasel out of this deal. One down, a bunch left to go.

21. Right. Delay isn't lined up for a position kissing Rove's ass at the WH.
"Say, Tom, did you get the memo on the melon farmers and the water rationing rules?"

"Yeah. How much are we getting in contributions for the meeting?"

"Look, Tom, you're just in the meeting. Karl wants you to hear what they want and report back."

"And then, I use my influence to get the change made."

"No, Tom, you use your influence to get coffee and sit in the meeting and take notes."
