Do you think Delay made a deal to stay our of jail?
There is no reason for him to quit except for the corruption scandal and his ex staffer Rush turning State's Evidence on him and others. I would think he would want to stay in power so he could sort of "fix" things. I think they have the goods on him and he was told if he would just leave they would go lightly. I hope I am wrong because I wish him in jail but am quite glad he is no longer going to be in Congress. Just remember the bigger they are the greater the fall.

3. No. Ronnie Earle is not giving up on this.

He quit because he's a-scared. And he should be. His aides are dropping like flies and turning states evidence.

I'm looking forward to a good time.

4. NO
With the plea deal by his former deputy chief of staff, Delay knows he's going down. If there had been a deal, then he would be giving a list of names of the other Repukes who have gained from their
association with Delay.

Besides the prosecutor in Texas wants to put Delay in a cage for a long time!!!!

5. No, but he is fishing for one.
In the meantime the rest of the GOP has told him to get lost, as they can't afford his dead weight come November.

6. He's been under pressure from the Party to quit for a long time,
but he used the primary to raise a lot of money for his General Election campaign. Now that he's not running he can use that money for legal bills and he's going to have a LOT of them.

Some speculate that the only reason he ran in the primary was to increase the war chest which he needed to defend himself in court.

7. I still think there's more to come on what's behind this.
I'm sure he has been under pressure for a long time, but he's too arrogant and self serving to "just quit"! Several of his top aids have cooperated with the Feds, and I'm thinking there was some VERY damning info from both, and especially the last one.

9. Next question.
How many days after his resignation can he become a lobbyist, where the REAL money is?
