I'm feeling a little bit guilty...
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 03:01 PM by AndyA
I know I shouldn't take any joy in another persons pain, but I do get a bit gleeful whenever I hear the latest bad news for Republicans. Be it another resignation, indictment, investigation, accusation of wrong doing, caught in another lie, drop in the polls, whatever, I do take just a bit of joy in that.

I'm not normally this type of person, but after so many years of seeing their arrogance, and their complete disdain for everything American, it does a soul good to know that they are beginning to get theirs.

Forgive me, for I do believe that no matter what they've done, they still deserve more democracy than they gave us.

7. Any pain they are feeling
is merely self inflicted. Any joy you feel will not intensify their pain. You are a better man than I to think that way. Every member of the republican party is pure evil and the vast majority of their base is religiously insane, ignorant or too rich to care. They are finally getting what is just and true and "christian." How sweet!

Caveat: "Every republican pure evil" - please list those who have condemned bush and delay and cheney and abramoff and the rest of the criminal in their party. They care only for the party, not for our country.

8. Bad news for Republicans is good news for America
Why feel guilty about that?

It's one thing to be happy that a bad person like Tom Delay won't be able to hurt America as much, and another thing to be happy that Tom Delay is probably feeling pain and crying (well, maybe not crying). Taking joy in pain is one thing, taking joy in victory (or what little victories we are given) - hell yeah!

9. They deserve more democracy and more due process, but
watching their fall from grace is delicious.

Question: if Delay is ultimately indicted on new charges and\or convicted or any charges, does he still get to keep his pension? I remember that one theory about why Nixon resigned is that he was able to keep his pension benefits, whereas had he been impeached and convicted, he would have lost said benefits. Not sure if the Nixon story is urban legend or whether, if true, that type of dynamic would apply to DeLay, i.e., he resigned to guarantee that he wouldn't lose his pension, even if subsequently convicted.

11. No guilt here--all you are feeling is a sense of JUSTICE
And damn, someone pretty clever with an enormous understanding of sacrifice, pain, and injustice said "JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED!"

We're past due for some "DELAY" justice...the emotions you feel are the same as when one's ship finally comes in.

12. Please get over the guilt.
They have no conscience, no compassion, and have never felt one iota of guilt for all the destruction and heartache they have heaped upon this nation.

15. They still control the whole government, and much of the media. When this
is no longer the case, feel free to feel guilty.
