Democrats and Republicans on "Net Neutrality"
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 05:17 PM by Eric J in MN
It's on C-Span now, in the US House.

The Republicans I saw want to pass a phony version of Net Neutrality. ISPs couldn't block websites altogether, under this plan, but could charge websites for a Fast Lane, putting websites which can't pay a fee (Democratic Underground?) into the Slow Lane.

The Democrats I saw want to pass a better version of Net Neutrality, which would would let ISPs charge websites differently based on whether there is video content or phone-like content, but otherwise treat everyone the same.

The version of Net Neutrality which I support is what we have right now, in which ISPs treat data the same and don't shake down websites.

Please use this easy form to support Net Neutrality.

1. Important issue here...
kicked.

I hope the net community can pull together to fend off this assault. Even if a foul bill passes we still have the (much more limited) option to boycott any ISP that does not support total net neutrality.

2. The ISPs could screw us on that by ALL shaking down websites,
making a boycott difficult.
