Dear Representative DeLay....
Thank you for all you've done to expose the corruption of the Republican Party. America will always be grateful that your criminal conduct, along with that of your staff members, your colleague Randy Cunningham, and your pet lobbyist Jack Abramoff, helped us see how utterly selfish the republicans are, especially the neoconservative radical republicans whose causes have been described as "doing so much, for so few, who need it so little."
While you're enjoying your richly deserved vacation in a federal penitentiary, I hope you can find the time to reflect on how much harm your party has done to America during the last six years. It's ironic, that after working so hard to run America so far into crippling debt, you will likely spend the next several years as a ward of the State, a further burden on the taxpayers whom your party has already burdened with a crushing debt for several generations into the future. Perhaps our grandchildren will curse you still, but they will certainly remember you-- every time they remember that America was once prosperous, once respected, and once honored around the globe. We have our current republican leadership to thank for freeing us from the constraining chains of prosperity and moral authority, and you in particular to thank for showing us just how far the venal can fall if they reach too far.
You've shown us how greed, cronyism, and fiscal hanky-panky DO pay as long as our hubris doesn't cause us to grasp for too much. Be assured that while you take your rest behind bars, the wealthiest one or two percent of Americans will thank you for all you've done for them, all you've sacrificed for them, and all you've given them. Well, actually they will likely forget you, but that's just their nature. Every time their greed triumphs over the more desperate needs of the poor or the middle class, your memory will be honored.
Hats off to you sir-- you're a great example of republican conservatism!
Sincerely
xxxx
