All the people listed so far are heroes, but it's not as though they had millions and millions of followers while they were here.

I would LOVE to see Jesus come back and set his followers straight. For all my cynicism about organized religion, I think the majority of the followers of the religious right are simple, well-meaning people who've been taught since childhood that anything but blind obedience is naughty--who honestly believe that their leaders would never use them for political power or deliberately lead them astray. I would love for them to hear Jesus' truth from Jesus' own mouth and start to live according to his teachings. The country and maybe even the world would become a gentler, more compassionate place if Jesus came back today.
