Lookin at democracy in the rear view mirror. |

Watching CBS's notion that China will move to democracy within the next 5 to 10 years :eyes: (yeah right, doesn't anyone at CBS remember Tianamen Square?) while Bush destroys it at home was really odd. Sort of like looking at an object in the rear view mirror while you unwillingly leave it behind.

it was TV and a different lifestyle IMHO that.
While the Soviets lived in poverty, they saw the lifestyle of Americans through a couple sources TV etc and IMHO got tired of the Soviet way of life.
Same is going on in China. IMHO thanks to Walmart and others.

2. So how does that explain their latest march back toward the |
|
Soviet Union?
China isn't going to become a democracy, period. Thanks to the Soviet Union, they know some of the pitfalls and if all else fails, I'm sure they'll do the same thing they've always done and resort to force.
