This guy is the real deal people.
http://www.vgt2004.org/a-dallas06/candidate-detail.go?id=3176104Hi all,
I have to be brief because I'm rushing to meet up with David Van Os in Bonham at 1pm. I did, however, want to say hi and introduce myself. Seeing so many excited Democrats everyday is the best part of running for office.
I decided to run for the United States Congress after watching with horror the government’s slow and incompetent response to Katrina. I firmly believe the failure was a direct result of a self-centered mind set—a radical ideology that tells people to forget about their neighbors and only look out for themselves. All I could think was “What if that were my maw maw and my parents who were trapped in the city?” I was appalled that the Washington politicians congratulated themselves for doing a “heck-of-a-job.” Where was the leadership?
Katrina brought home in a dramatic way the slow erosion of the American dream. While fake politicians raise millions of dollars, corporate lobbyists are rewriting our laws and hurting our families. Big drug companies are making billions from the Medicare drug bill, but seniors can’t understand it. Financial corporations are making billions from student loans, but students finish college with $20,000 to $30,000 of debt. Multinational energy corporations are making record profits, but commuters and farmers can’t afford to drive.
I reject the notion that we are helpless to prevent corruption. We are a stronger nation when we serve our neighbors and look out for their well-being. We can build a “more perfect union.”
I hope to see some of you soon on the campaign trail.
Best wishes,
glenn
