Michigan serial dog killer still at large (warning: Disturbing)
This person or person(s) need to be caught. This is really really sick behavior:

Investigators have now more than 40 dead animals including a number of domesticated dogs and skinned coyote and fox carcasses. Most of the animals were decapitated. All of the animals were found around the Superior Township area.

The first dog was found dead, bound with duct tape around its feet, and decapitated near Harris and Geddes roads on March 16. There were also five skinned coyote carcasses at the site. Since then investigators from the humane society have discovered more animal deaths, almost daily, around the same area.
...
One of the latest incidents was reported Sunday when two more dog carcasses were found shot in the back of the head. They were found near a dead Rottweiler that was discovered Saturday adjacent to Geddes and LeForge roads. The Rottweiler was bound with rope but wasn't decapitated like the other dogs in what seems to be a string of related incidents according to the The Humane Society of Huron Valley.

The humane society is now offering a approximately $9,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Reward money is being donated almost daily for the capture of the dog killer.

I re-ordered the paragraphs in the clips for clarity. The article goes on to say that the Sherriff's department has only recently joined the investigation in a significant way. This implies that only the Humane Society was looking for the sicko(s) before. I would think the Sherriff would have a greater interest in these crimes since it is commonly believed that these types of individuals extended this type of crime to humans (although in my book, killing 40 dogs is plenty bad enough).

2. Yes, there seems to be a link between animal and human killers, so I
too hope the sherrif's office steps up before things escalate.

4. There was an article about this on a Swedish
online newspaper. There was a sign, that the killer may have written. It said, "God will punish you for your sins", or something to that effect.

The Swedish article commented, "Well, that's the fundie Americans for you".

9. See post 5 for the sign.
More likely that someone left that sign for killers' benefit.

7. As sick as this behavior is, the thought of what this may turn into
is really chilling. There has been a link established between animal abuse and human violence.

8. What is wrong with these people?
Why would someone perform such sadistic acts on relatively defenseless animals? Just to prove that they could? It just doesn't make sense!

This absolutely breaks my heart. I just don't have the words.

10. This is sick........
It seems that animal cruelty is on the rise these days. I read something recently about people being warned to keep an eye on their dogs in backyards. Some sick ass was going around and dousing the dogs in acid. The story was about a puppy that had burns over a large section of it's body and in awful pain. Apparently, they had to put it to sleep. IMO, they need stricter laws against animal cruelty.
