What I'm learning: The Important Issues of the Day

So what I've learned from this forum today is that the most important issues confronting Democrats are:

1. Some woman named Katie Couric got a new job.

2. It's time we took a stand against the Capitol Hill Police.

These may not seem, at first blush, like terribly important issues. But there's really nothing else going on in the news. Things are humming along for the Republicans, so I guess we have to take what we can get.
