This is what concerns me. And given that Libby is the one outting the President for his role in this, might this even be a power grab by Cheney to seize the Presidency? Does Bush authorizing the leak let Cheney off the hook?

:scared:

1. No Cheney will go away as well in this scandal, also you wont
have to worry about Hastert because Conyers will be House leader after the elections this year.

President Conyers????

Bush Approved Leak of Iraq Arms Intelligence, Libby Testified

<snip>
``Defendant testified that the vice president later advised him that the president had authorized defendant to disclose the relevant portions of the NIE,'' Fitzgerald wrote.

Cheney previously has said he has authority to release classified information, as does the president.

``There's an executive order that specifies who has classification authority, and obviously it focuses first and foremost on the president, but also includes the vice president,'' Cheney said in a Feb. 15 interview on Fox News.

The administration had no immediate comment on the court document, which was filed last night.

4. Would seem to me they both leaked...stuck with Hastert
which would probably be as good as having been stuck with Gerald Ford

7. I obviously wasn't at any of those meetings, but I just don't see how Dick
Cheney can avoid blame when his own chief of staff was authorized to leak classified info on Valerie Plame.

There isn't a soul on earth who thinks that Cheney is some marginally-interested, disengaged bystander. He's widely and accurately perceived as the brains of the operation. An evil brain to be sure, but certainly at the control panel night and day while Junior is down at the ranch in Crawford clearin' brush.

I think Cheney is even more vulnerable legally than Bush, since this leak was executed out of his office.

10. This is a conspiracy to defraud the government into going to war.
If this is to be the charge, a bunch in the White House could be gone

12. This is the NIE
not Plame's ID. Related, but distinct.
