back in 1974, had the House been ruled by a Republican majority?
Would the House voted to impeach Clinton had it been ruled by a Democratic majority?
I just think that as long as the Republican rule Congress, any steps for impeachment are treading water.
And come November, I don't know that this will be on most voters' mind.
As the recent immigration marches show - people get galvanized on issues that are close to their day to day living. The Plane leak, the wiretapping, even the war on Iraq and, with no new disaster even Katrina - will not be on the front burner.
Health care accessibility and cost, jobs, retirement, schools - will be.
Yes, some say that we should be ready with articles of impeachment so that as soon as we (maybe) take over Congress, we can proceed. I don't think so. I think this will be perceived as spiteful and really non conducive and will heart us in 2008.
