DOUBTERS and NAYSAYERS - Fibby/Plame
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 11:38 AM by stop the bleeding
The MSM has been quick to point out that the Court Docs from yesterday's Libby hearing only say that B*sh authorized Libby/Cheney to leak classified information about Iraq not Plame. Well the thing the MSM is so NOT disclosing is the Intel report that had the leaked Iraq data was also laced with Intel about Plame's covert status. So any blind monkey could infer what was leaked and what wasn't. Especially when considering why this was leaked, according to the Docs this was in rebuttal/to bolster the WH's WMD claims against Wilson's article/attack.

If people actually take the time to read the 39 page PDF they will see that this leak is very important in regards to Plame's covert status.

Do not be led astray by the MSM on this, it's all in the pudding(court filings).

The other tactic will be to say that this is all so complicated, a tangled ball of string that no person could understand. Don't waste your time, move on.

...who doesn't know or care who Plame is...wouldn't leaking classified information about Iraq be a much bigger issue???

CNN corrects CIA leak allegation

RAW STORY
Published: Thursday April 6, 2006

CNN errantly reported that according to grand jury testimony, president Bush had directly authorized Vice President Cheney's chief of staff I. Lewis Libby to leak the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame.

CNN corrected the claim to more accurately reflect the content of the testimony, noting that it was Vice President Dick Cheney who Libby testified had told him the President had ok'ed the leak of classified information relating to pre-war intelligence. This means the President did not directly, by Libby's account, authorize him to leak classified information.

Nowhere in Libby's testimony does he claim that the Vice President or the President authorized him specifically to leak the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame.

However, according to Libby's testimony, Cheney did authorize leak of classified information claiming that Bush himself had given the go-ahead.

Libby, has been indicted for conspiracy and lying to federal investigators regarding the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame.

The report was made and corrected live on air.

12. Two large rivers are converging
One being Fitzpatrick's investigation and the other being the Administration's attempt to build a case for a Unitary Executive.
The rule of law and the Constitution or the shift to complete authoritarian takeover.

For the sake of our future, may Fitzgerald prevail.

25. I think this us one of the main reasons they've been
pressing the Unitary Executive stance. They've known this would probably be coming because they know what they did. The only question for them was if Fitzgerald would catch it and nail them for it. Once they saw he was heading in that direction, they started openly proclaiming they have that power in other areas, in part because they want it there, but also to try to head off what is now coming out.

But Fitzgerald has been building the case carefully and strongly. I'm counting on him to win.

33. The problems for the chimp are .......
HE DID AUTHORIZE THAT CERTAIN PORTIONS OF CLASSIFED DOC BE DECLASSIFIED

He only declassified those portions of the NIE that helped make the case for war. Other portions of the same NIE argued against the war. Those portions were NOT declassified.

Also he didn't make the declassified portion public information. That portion was surreptitiously given to Judy Miller. That is a leak, no matter how you slice it.

18. Sen. Kerry will appear on MSNBC's "Hardball" today. He will surely
focus on Bush's deceiving the American public when he said Sept. 30 2003"If somebody leaked, I want to know who it is".

Since Joe Wilson worked on the Kerry/Edwards campaign, Kerry should have all the skinny on the Plame leak.

Kerry is supposed to talk about his plan for Iraq but since MSNBC's David Shuster broke today's Libby leak story, JK will surely be asked to give his opinion.

This leaking of classified Iraq Intel was in direct response to Wilson's article questioning the WH's claims of Uranium Intel. The NEI along with the Iraq Intel had information as to what Plame's covert status was, also take into account Miller's testimony from last year. On the same days that are in question about Libby's leaking(s) she and him have breakfast and she makes notes on Plame/Flame or variations of Plame's name. Also Libby admits he was Ok's to leak to Miller and Woodward, where did Miller get her notes about Plame on the same days as Libby was leaking information out of Document that had classified info on Iraq and Plame.

The media is spinning this right now, because it is not in print as far as what I have inferred, I hope that I have not confused you but this is it in a nutshell unless I missed something.

24. see here from Roger Morris at counterpunch - good Plame time line
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 02:27 PM by stop the bleeding

Read the whole article, but the important parts that answer your question start in the date range of June/03 to mid July/03 - it is all about the INR memo which is based on notes from Feb/02 - it's all there about Plame's status - this INR memo would become the NEI breifing.

Now look at the links for the PDF's from yesterdays' filing - see page 15 - see the witnesses/players - these are the same people indicated in the time line alluded to in the Morris article above.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=860418&mesg_id=860418

This is all of the same information with the same leak.

I would have to spend more time to provide better links and summary but this is it.

32. Hinchey Statement On Revelation That President Bush Authorized Leak
Hinchey Statement On Revelation That President Bush Authorized Leak Of Classified Information To Bolster Administration's Public Case For War
Washington, D.C. 4/5/2006

- Congressman Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) today released the following statement in response to news reports that President Bush authorized Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, to disclose highly classified (full story...)

Some encouraging news on Fitzgerald's investigating Niger forgeries on Rep
Hinchey's website:

http://www.house.gov/hinchey/

=="If what Scooter Libby said to the grand jury is true, then this latest development clearly reveals yet again that the CIA leak case goes much deeper than the disclosure of a CIA agent's identity to the press...

35. I'm well aware of that but the thing I can't get away from is the"He said,
He said" nature of the words Libby used. I think it was carefully designed to protect the pResident from the specific charge of direct knowledge. * can fire Cheney as the leaker and claim he did not authorize any such "leak."

I wish I hadn't been witness to the last 6 years of American history. Maybe I wouldn't be such a pessimists had I not seen for myself how easy it seems for these criminals to worm their way out of things.
