Raw Story tops Google News

In perhaps another sign independent online media is growing on the established mainstream press, RAW STORY has topped Google News for the first time since it was established in February 2004.

The story -- which ironically noted that CNN had produced an errant report on the CIA leak investigation -- topped Google News around 1pm ET for about a half-hour Thursday.

...when they write the history of the war profiteering corporate news monopolies of our era, and future readers' eyes pop out at what they did to us, and the heroes and patriots and freedom fighters of this era, many bloggers among them, are given the medals and statues and carved visages on Mount Rushmore that they deserve.

Raw Story topping Google News will be seen as the first centimeter of the tip of the iceberg poking its head up among the muck and ruins of our democracy.
