VIDEO: This MAN has more guts than almost our entire Congress!
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 04:00 PM by BigBearJohn
I actually CRINGED (in a good way) when I heard what this man said to Bush.
Talk about balls. He has canon-sized big brass ones.

From story on Rawstory:

This morning in Charlotte, a Bush PR event on the war on terror went off-script when a man named Harry Taylor took the microphone

with a calm voice and nailed so many points. I hope the video is seen far and wide and gives many others the nerve to speak out.

11. The fact Taylor faced down the president himself is so powerful. If people
only can see this and appreciate that it's not only okay, but patriotic to speak out.

The murderer immediately went to his strong suit, breathless giggling. He makes my skin crawl.

18. LOL! Chucklenuts!! Thanks for the laugh...
...you nailed it!

The man is such an abomination, that you have to laugh---or you start bathing with a plugged-in toaster!

That's exactly what Junior did. This audience member was sincere and dignified, and "chucklenuts" (LOL!) turned it into a night at the Improv.

I just want to smack him and tell him that this isn't fucking funny anymore. We don't think illegally spying on Americans is funny. We don't think poisonous drinking water is funny either. Nothing you do is remotely amusing...it's sick!

Sorry for swearing...sometime with Junior I can't help it.

19. Smells like it was a Rovian set up to me?
Bush got a chance to address every critic. He even defended this mans right to speak and found an occasion to crack a lighthearted joke? I dunno, if Mr. Taylor is "real" I applaud him. However, Bush's composed "humorous" rebuttal was not typical angry/defensive/flustering Bush behavior IMHO.

My guess is that Bush either got the questions in advance or this guy is an other "Gannon-bot."

I guess 6 years of Rove has me skeptical?

McKinney's story has fallen off the top of the hour on the news cycle. Her story is coming just before the break now. And I completely disagree that Bush came off smelling anything but lame in his response to that man's question.

If Harry is a plant, he did his job too well. People will remember the word "ASHAMED". The video clips will show a man saying:

"I feel like despite your rhetoric, that compassion and common sense have been left far behind during your administration and I would hope from time to time that you have the humility and the grace to be ashamed of yourself inside yourself..."

Then they will stop tape in the middle of Dubya's rambling answer.

:)

The guy was far too polished. His sentences all came to a complete stop. He didn't have a question, and he thanked Bush for allowing him to say it, etc., far too often. It was a dissenting opinion so decked out in praise that it was hard to make out any emotion behind it.

I read the transcript and it read like a script.

It was real.
I'm in North Carolina, & Harry Taylor is a friend of a musician friend of mine. Taylor is well-known locally as a bluegrass musician & he heads up the Folk Music Society. He's a tru-blue Dem, very liberal, & very outspoken against the Bush Administration. Not everything is a Rovian set-up. Go Harry!

I can see how that'd make people suspicious! :) I'm very proud of my city after that visit. There were massive protests across the street from where Bush was speaking, w/people chanting & marching & cars honking horns. Combined w/Mr. Taylor's brave stance, it feels like everyone rallied to send Bush a message.

CNN/MSNBC - can't recall which. Maybe both throughout the late afternoon.

BigbearJohn, this man was very articulated, reserve, one could feel his compassion. He spoke with his heart breaking. When he sat down , placing hands over his mouth, * continually interrupted him with arrogance while smirking. It showed anyone watching that the man standing-up calmly with great sadness and compassion he had more integrity then the leader of the free world.

Way, way more integrity. A pivotal moment.
