4. I think it was probably real, |
|
Bush's handlers have been careful to see that he memorized a tidy response to the wiretap issue. I think it sounded pat because he recited something he was taught to say whenever eavesdropping came up.

6. good point, as he only responded to that...had to turn it after about a |
|
minute's worth of his coherent, for him, rambling, scratching head.
I love it when he does that

especially since they screen everyone who gets within 10 miles of the Commander InCompetence... And you know they make sure they know the questions that are going to be asked so that no one tries to play "stump the chimp."

7. I appreciate the message, but.... |
|
...I think he was probably a plant and the entire episode was scripted.

10. That was my gut reaction. And I couldn't figure out why everyone |
|
was falling for it.
Then I watched the clip at ThinkProgress.
Looks legit.
Or Acadamy Award material.

11. Would they have gone so far as to have a plant say that he had |
|
never been as ashamed of his government? And Bush and his flippant replies, as if this is not an important and serious discussion. It reminds me of his video looking for WMD under desks, etc.

12. "It's the exception that proves the rule" |
|
The rule being that Bush is loved by the masses, and that his little meetings are not "staffed" but rather open to all and attended by "mainstream Americans".
They script everything. Why not this, too?

14. why would they plant someone to make him look bad? |
|
when the handlers try so hard to keep dissent out of those "town hall" meetings?
makes no sense to me.

16. He was planted because they prepared Shrub to respond |
|
and they knew the audience would boo him, thus making Shrub look loved.
Not sure, byt I think it may have been a plant. Shrub looked too ready for it and didn't respond with anger which is what he seems to want to naturally do when he is questioned.
Compare his jocular response to how he responded to Helent Thomas.

15. why did he refer to him as "Squeaky Wheel"? |
|
I thought that was another "Bianca" moment ... He said there were three Squeaky Wheels ... and they would have to decide who asked a question ... Taylor responded "I have the mic". blivet** checkled at that and told him that was "smart thinking".

|
He was too ready for it. Too smooth by half...
