PLEASE, don't impeach Bush
He may deserve impeachment.
He may deserve criminal charges.

But please, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THE WORLD, don't impeach!

Why?

First off, guess who becomes President? Richard "I'll shoot you in the face" Cheney. That's right, the CEO of Halliburton will be President. You think things are bad now? LOL!

Second, lets say Cheney gets taken down in the scandal too. What will we have then? There are actually two scenarios. The first would involve Cheney stepping down first (Like Nixon's VP did) and Bush appointing a new VP who would need to be confirmed by the Senate. Any guesses what diabolical scheme the Bush people might come up with to crown a potential successor? I don't even want to guess, it's too painful for me to think of what dreadful decision they could make.

Back to the real second option, the Speaker of the House of Representatives becomes the next President of the United States.

That's right, Dennis Hastert, (GOOFBALL-IL). But then he would have to appoint a VP. Who has any idea who that could be?

But anyways, the point of this is that its better to let Bush dry out in 120 degree heat with no shade for the next 30+ months. His approval ratings are already in the low 30s. Anyone really think Iraq is suddenly going to turn around for his administration? I don't think so. And all these scandals! So JUICY! He could end up being perhaps the greatest advertising statement the Democratic Party has ever had. Worse than Hoover. Final Collapse of the Republican Revolution. from a political standpoint, why take that bright flashflight off all of these issues with a new, maybe even vibrant, Republican President.

2. Don't bet on it
I see a Nixon type thing happening. Cheney will be forced out first and the chimp will appoint a new VP and then sometime later he will be forced to resign. Of course anybody he appoints as VP won't be much better, but I say IMPEACH THE BASTARD.

3. If Stupid goes down, he'll take Cheney with him
because the story is that BOTH of them authorized the Plame leak.

That leaves Denny Hastert, and I sincerely doubt he's going to be terribly effective in pushing the wingnut agenda when the new Congress comes in next year.

People are just plain fed up with government overspending, unwinnable wars, and general incompetence at the top. You bet we're about to see the collapse of the GOP Revolution, and my guess is that the collapse will be swift and sure no matter who is squatting in Al Gore's house for the next three years.

5. Leaves Hastert
He would be the weakest and lamest duck ever to occupy the WH as President. He'd just keep the seat warm for the Dem who would easily win over any repuke.

4. Fuck That. It's Like Saying "Don't Arrest That Crack Dealer, If You Do
another is just going to take his place anyway"

Fuck that. You arrest him. Then once his punk ass is locked up, you focus on nailing the next degenerate crack dealing scumbag that stands on the corner. That's how it works. It is what it is.

10. Bad Analogy....
The "War on Drugs" won't be won by the "locked up" principal.... So long as there is a demand, there will be a supply.

This is going off topic but I think drugs should be legalized and regulated not criminalized....

14. DRUGS ARE LEGAL!! just need a prescription & morphine on demand.
Drugs are never found in millionaires homes, or in their limosines, they are legal for the wealthy.
The informal trade in pharmaceuticals, the pot the coke, the heroin is what needs to be leagalized, in a "FREE" society.
We are as free as the slaves that built this country on the blood of the original Americans.

22. DENTISTs use cocaine derivatives EVERY DAY. Drug Companies need to control
the trade, which by the way is why PROHIBITION was abondoned, the liquor industry lost BILLIONS during the Volstedt Act 30's, and lobbied hard for ending prohibition. Now we pay twice what liquor is worth, taxed to the max and controlled pricing.

16. Actually It's A Perfect One For The Intended Context.
And I think you missed the point completely. This wasn't about a 'war on drugs'. It was about a very simple concept: You don't overlook the crimes of one because another will take their place afterwards. Very simple analogy, very simple point.

18. You're right. You're getting off topic. The analogy is solid.
A pusher of poison should be locked up. Forget that other "war on drugs" thingy.

A pusher of poison should be locked up. Crack is poison. Making money pushing it, is sick.

The analogy is solid. You don't let one sick profiteer pushing poison off by saying another will pop up.

Solid analogy. IMFO. Okay. IMHO.

6. Not good enough reasons to refrain from impeachment.
In time, we will have evidence on all of those fuckers, because every single one of them is dirty. Cheney is likely to go down, too. It's our duty to remove these traitors from office as quickly as possible. And, like so many thieves, when one goes down, dominoes.

8. Cheney's hands are just as bloody on this one as Bush's are.
I actually think Cheney will go down first and maybe even all by himself.

As for the advertisement issue. I think you are right. A picture of Bush on any Democrtic campaign commercial could go a very LONG way in the future. He just stands for it all corruption, lying, econimic collapse, you name it, he's got it...

9. Bush must be impeached to demoralize the bush bots....
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 05:46 PM by MazeRat7
You point is well taken, but for all those that have defended this sorry excuse of a president for so long... they need to see him fall. They need to rethink their alliances. They need to stare into the abyss. This guy needs to go down and down hard so we can restore what little is left of democracy in this country.

13. The Republican Loyalty Oath is not a Suicide Pact...
The Repukes are going to drop him faster than a scalded cat. He's going to resign. They're not ready to fight a real revolution and if this shit keeps up much longer, that's exactly what could happen. To save thier own skins, they're going to force him to resign. Besides, they've already stolen everything that wasn't nailed down so what the fuck do they care? This has been a scam from day one; a boondoggle pertpetrated by corporations eager to get thier hands on the American Line of Credit. They've maxed us out already and now we'll get to elect someone who will re-fill the till and then they'll start all over again. It's the American Dream.
