Geez, throttle back a bit, Turbo.

9. He Has To Stick With It - That's Why He's Keith
Its all part of what makes his show so great, it is him as the Sportscaster, him as the boy of games. Its all part of the deal and the show would just be another newscast without it or whatever his obsession of the moment is. Just fun, let it go.

10. I Say That With All That K.O. Has Done For Us, Repeatedly, He Deserves It.
Let him have it. He has done more than enough for us, and we can give him this in return. He is a sports guy at heart, and if covering this story means that much to him, than I say let him beat it to death as much as he wants. Lord knows he's covered that ones that mean so much to us, I think we can reward him with patience while he covers one that means so much to him.

Why would Countdown limit itself to war and politics?

A very large slice of the audience watches because of KO's sports creds.

In the world of sports, the Bonds story is as big as the lying prez is in our world of DU. Maybe bigger. And certainly a lot more pressing.

You know, there are actually some people out there who do not care on whit about politics and war.

I live in one of the most politically aware places in the country and I know folks who read only the sports section of the paper.

17. Repeat....He's A Sports Guy At Heart
He started out doing local sports at KTLA 5 in Los Angeles. He does an hour of sports on radio each day.

The Bonds story and the steroids in baseball issue is important and somewhat historic. If he covers the other stuff that's political, cut him some slack on having a segment or two to indulge his need for a sports fix.

24. It Is A News Story
I don't care about Barry Bonds and the whole issue stinks...but it is an issue and one that does affect millions of people who do follow baseball as well as the overall ethics of this case.

Just because he's not covering your pet issue doesn't mean there aren't those watching who aren't paying attention. If anything, Olbermann's coverage is designed to bring in new viewers...those who listen to him on ESPN Radio...and generally aren't seeing the news the rest of us are. Now how would you feel if those people said "who cares about what Libby said to Miller"..."or every time they do a story on that O'Reilly dude, I'm clicking off".

There's a story in the corruption of baseball and sports that parallels what we see in politics. It's the concept of winning at all costs and how those who cheat to win try to get away with it. In many ways Bonds and steroids is no different than boooosh and his scortched earth politics.

And I HATE listening to sports news.

He's done so much for us......just compare him to all the

Remenber after the election....he was the only one who listened to us,
returned our emails
and put our concerns on the air.

I love him for all he's done.....Let him have his fun.

28. At least you're honest. :-)
I look at it like this. I think Bonds is important because if we can't have honesty in sports, how can we have it anyplace else? I care about honesty everywhere--not just in government.

Second, even if I cared not a whit...I'd give this to Keith anyway. Baseball is the great love of his life. This story matters to him intensely. But it's not as if it's the top story on his show every night. His top story tonight was Libby, as it should have been. Heck, it wasn't even his second story. I think he has a sense of perspective about it that's just fine.

At the same time, it allows him to use his sports reporting experience and also employ some synergy between his work for MSNBC and his work for ESPN Radio, and bring in new viewers. Viewers who might have initially come in from his radio audience, for the baseball news, but in the meantime will also hear about other things going on in the world.

It's Keith's show. I'm perfectly happy with the agenda he's setting for it. If not every story thrills me, I wait for one that will. Because he's one of the good guys, and he deserves the generosity in my book.

32. Wow, I couldn't agree more. I've stopped watching KO because of it.
I stopped listening to Mike Malloy because the other day I disagreed with him about CM.

Al Franken has that Limbaugh listener on--so I turn his show off.

The Daily Show made fun of Howard Dean once, I haven't watched it since.

South Park always disses LWingers and it isn't the least bit funny.

I've stopped watching and listening to 'em all--but I do enjoy a little Kool-Aid while I watch Hannnity and Colmes, Rita Cosby, and Joe Scarborough.

If only the Republicans demanded the purity from their guys the way we do...

:applause: I tend to tape Countdown, as we have a small person rocketing around the house during the early evening hours. On nights when the latest Bonds story sounds interesting to me, I watch it. On the nights it doesn't, there's always fast-forward. Works great for Britney stories, too. ;-)

or atleast he used to be, so I don't blame him for being interested in it. His show isn't a straight up news show anyways.

I personally don't care about Barry Bonds, but I like his show otherwise. I'll just change the channel at that time.

But if you are so irritated by it, then email him. Maybe if enough people do, he won't focus so much on it.

I just turn the sound down and read the paper or something when KO does his baseball stories. Not only am I not interested, I don't think it's important enough to consume so much time on his program.

It's kind of like waiting for Ed Schultz to finish talking about huntin' and fishin' (and sports) although I like listening to him so I generally stay tuned through the digressions.

41. More people relate to sports than to politics I would bet
I don't know if you every caught his shows on Sportscenter on ESPN but they were the best damned shows I've ever seen on sports.

If he hooks a few more viewers by tossing in a sports story here and there, so what? Lots of times he mentions that he's doing stories only because the producers insist on it so it's obvious he does not have total control of the content of his show. Maybe it's his way of substituting something that he thinks is more interesting than some producer's idea to do an update on Natalie Holloway.
