17. I forgot to ask how
You ended up a Cardinals fan, all the way out in Oregon!

I'm going to feel so displaced this summer. No Cardinal games on TV.

Somehow, I think I'll deal. I'll just go to the gym.

7. Remember how Bush invaded Fallujah on Nov 3rd?
Does anyone think that timing was coincidental? Of course not - it was staged to immediately force a concession following the fraud knowing FULL WELL Kerry's hands would be tied. They were just waiting for someone to make a fuss about the election so they could scream "HOW DAAAAAAARE YOU UNDERMINE OUR DEMOCRACY AND TRANSITION OF POWER WHILE OUR SOLDIERS ARE ENGAGED IN FULL-SCALE ASSAULT AGAINST THE ENEMY? DO YOU WANT AMERICA TO LOOK WEAK??"

All the people I see here whining about Kerry and the election have NO idea what an absolute Catch-22 that would be, nor do they have any fucking clue what it would be like to have to make a decision in that tiny, limited time frame, with muddled facts, a nation breathing down your neck, and a full-scale military invasion. Kerry was a victim just as Gore was, and just as the American people were.

33. wrong
there is only one presidential
candidate who could convince him to--and that is the man who was elected as president, and cheated of the office, BEFORE him: Al Gore.

It would be no demotion to take 2nd place to Gore. Gore won first--and should have been president instead of the Nightmare.

I don't think Kerry can win on his own--as head of the ticket. His vote for the Iraq war, and Nov. 3 did too much damage. Him alone brings painful memories. But him seconding GORE, and the two of them seeking poetic justice together, is a winner!

And only Gore fully understands the matter at hand. I'm not even sure Clark does (although he might). The matter at hand is the overthrow of our government by a fascist coup. And it is by no means certain that even a vastly intelligent man like Gore, with a spine of steel, can overcome the fraudulent election SYSTEM that has been put in place. We will need to HUGE turnout to defeat the machines. In my opinion, a Gore/Kerry ticket--with its theme of poetic justice--may be the only ticket that can pull it off.

If we had a transparent election system--and not one controlled by rightwing Bushite corporations with 'TRADE SECRET,' PROPRIETARY vote tabulation programming--I think Gore/Kerry would get 60% to 70% of the vote. I am not kidding. I think it would be the biggest landslide in history. But WITH this fraudulent election system, it will be a dogfight. Kerry couldn't win it alone. Nor any other candidate that I know of. But a Gore/Kerry ticket has special meaning. It means everybody knows we were cheated. It means everybody knows our right to vote has been messed with. It means that this democracy can straighten itself out, can face the truth, and undo some of the harm. The ship can right its course. Democracy can be restored in the U.S. of A.

And it is that rousing cry of "Poetic Justice!" that I think will rally the country, as no other thing can

61. *applause*
great post.
I get tired of hearing "we need a new candidate, a fresh face, someone who can win". Newsflash - Gore and Kerry did win! To put them together, on the same ticket, means that not only do we (I say that loosely b/c I'm not american) have faith in our candidates, but that we were right the first time! It reminds everyone of 'what could have been'. And after seeing the fucking disaster that is the current administration, it will put a bug in their minds. With a Gore/Kerry ticket, they won't be able to forget the past 8 yrs. Even just the names 'Gore' and 'Kerry' will be reminder enough, imo.
Besides, they they can't complain they really don't know anything about the Dem candidates, LOL.

42. Oh wow!
Does Kerry actually count the votes himself? That's news to me.

The recount was hacked by Ohio's RW Secretary of State. Hardly Kerry's fault. He's the VICTIM here after all.

Ah, if only the rest of the Dem party would go to bat for Kerry - which is really the problem...

But I digress...go off and search the blogosphere for your Al Gore pool pic, maybe one exists...

Meanwhile, we are all going to go back to feasting on sea cucumber and protein shakes.

If you think you can swallow it, join in.
