GUESS how Bush avoided being booed at the ballpark
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 09:53 PM by Rose Siding
Rather than face the Nationals crowd himself, Bush threw out the first pitch in Cincinnati on Monday. And although he received scattered boos there, he insulated himself from the worst by walking out to the mound accompanied by two injured American soldiers and the father of a soldier who was killed in action.

1. Yes, the last refuge of the scoundrel - the use of human body shields.
And you can bet that if - and God forbid, I hope it never happens - the White House got attacked, the asshole criminal would find a child to hide behind.

12. Like the presidential candidate in "The Dead Zone"
When he grabbed the nearest toddler to use as a human shield, Christopher Walken didn't have to carry out his mission because the photo of Sheen committing his shameful act would end his political career. What a quaint notion, that getting caught doing something flagrantly wrong at one time would have spelled doom and disgrace, even for a hugely popular rightwingnut cult leader. Whereas, if a similar photo of Bush were to apper on the cover of Time, media shills would claim he was heroically protecting the child from terrorists and a solid third of the country would buy it.

66. I cannot even think of an insult anymore
that conveys my utter contempt for that man. Worst person in the world? Dispicable lying piece of shit? Coward in the nth degree? Biggest loser on the planet? Fucking asshole? Son of a (literal) bitch?

I mean none of these come close.

And when I saw him respond to Harry Taylor with that smug arrogant grin "I atke it I'm not your favorite person. . what's your question?" I just want to punch him in the face. I truly loathe him.

And saying all of that still doesn't make me feel better. I will not feel better till he is boo'ed out of every public square he ever finds himself in, like the countess in Dangerous Liasons with all that white make-up. His total fucking humiliation by the voice of we the people is the only thing that will give me peace of mind, since he can drum up no humility within himself.

The mayor(GOP) walked out to soak up the sunshine, waving and smiling, alone...

As he was booed and jeered like a mass murderer about to be hanged. More disconnect than courage, but not too bright in allowing the largest mass concentration of voters to give him an instant plebiscite thumbs down.

Tamer times these. Jeffrey Daumer could throw out the first pitch and the hot dog bloated thirty dollar ticket holders would just yawn or cheer.

36. Another Surreal Day in the Age of Bush
(snip)
Major league baseball is as American as apple pie. For the first time in the history of the storied Cincinnati Reds’ franchise, a sitting president, George W. Bush, threw out the “ceremonial” opening day pitch, on April 3, 2006. Comedian Jay Leno said on the “Tonight” show that evening, that the presidential toss at the National League game against the Chicago Cubs, like Bush’s politics, went off to the “far right.” Instead of walking to the pitcher’s mound by himself to toss the ball back to the catcher, Bush jaunted out with a number of returning Iraqi War veterans by his side. By using them for cover, he avoided the strong possibility of being booed by the crowd. Isn’t the swaggering cowboy from Crawford, TX, a clever buck-oh?

On the same day, April 3rd, nine more brave Americans died in Iraq-one for every inning that Bush was at that ball game. This brought the total of military dead in the unjust, immoral and illegal conflict to 2343. (1) Since the Liar-in-Chief, Bush uttered his infamous “mission accomplished” statement, on May 1, 2003, 2206 more American soldiers have been killed. (2) The latest U.S. war casualties made it to p. 12 A of the “Baltimore Sun. Its front page was reserved for perky Katie Couric, a news reader for NBC TV’s “Today” program. Reportedly, she will soon sign a contract for a $17 million-a-year gig with CBS to “read” the evening news. Her main claim of note to date as a journalist, (I’m not making this up), is that her own (yuk) colonoscopy was televised! She has also been a rabid cheerleader for the Iraqi War. The air-headed Couric, like Barbara Walters, signifies what is wrong with TV broadcast journalism. There is simply too much emphasis on its entertainment aspect and not enough on the hard news that the people need to hear.
(snip)

More here...brutal stuff...!!!

from getting booed off the field. I'm sure his handlers had this all planned so that the lil emperor didn't have a hissy fit and have his bubble burst. No way to handpick the crowd at a baseball game, so they had to use the human shield. It's shameful either way.

Note the big guffaw on *'s face. I guess he was "joking" with the wounded soldiers again about how he got banged up clearing brush at the pig farm.

I've seen of our gutless wonder. Absolutely sickening is what it is. Well, photos like this are why so many earlier supporters are turning on the idiot. We're not the only ones who can see through his bullshit. Look at his latest poll numbers, he's starting to lose his hardcore base.

Hide behind some more war veterans, get caught in a few more lies, make a few more idiotic blunders, and his numbers will be in the 20's before the 4th of July.
