WASHINGTON — In a disturbing turn of events for an administration already plagued by sagging poll numbers and waning support for the Iraq war, Friday's revelation that the Bush Administration issued direct guidelines for programming to media outlets is troubling even die-hard conservatives.

Late Friday a series of memos between senior Bush Administration officials and management at Viacom, Inc. were leaked calling for the media giant to focus on stories and programming choices that "reinforce the Administration's positions" and to "ignore and/or discredit points of view in opposition to the Bush Administration's foreign policy objectives for the purposes of National Security."

4. America needs to demand the truth be put back into the reporting

of the news. What the media has done to America is criminal. America has become a third rate political cesspool, with the help of these corrorate liars for hire in the media. The truth is a rare find on TV, or in the newspapers now. Mrs. Clinton was 100% correct, about the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" and it's even spread to the DLC it seems.

I don't doubt for a second that what the story in the OP is telling, is in fact, not far from the reality of the situation. I don't understand all I know about Bush/Rove's hold over the media! I think that the Dictator in Chief has been dictating all the major "stories" we've been told, all along!

Stories like the one at the link, are meant to make the truth, look more like a conspiracy "theory," than the actual conspiracies, in progress in the USA. Propaganda is a mad science, but is a science, none the less! And the Bush propagandists have fine tuned Herr Joseph Goebells's mad science, to a razor edge. It is that razor edge, that has whittled away our democracy and has set us on the same road that Germany once goose stepped down, to ruin.
