of the damage caused; of course, they may not be ablt to without making the situation even worse--and naturally, they couldn't possibly share any real information with the public since that would harm their boss (who's made everything under the sun "classified" and therefore a federal offense if disclosed (leaked) for just that purpose, to cover his butt)(remember, tho, he can declassify anything at any time or any place, intentionally or unintentionally, maliciously or non-maliciously and call it legal).
What I mean is, if the Plame affair actually cost us really important assets--and you know it's gotta put a damper on our ability to gain new contacts out there in the real world since they'd be more afraid than ever that our own fudge brained President would leak their identities on a whim if he ever thought it helpful to him personally--bragging comes to mind: "Just to show you all how effective our efforts against Terror have been, you should know our CIA has been able to infiltrate the leadership of IRAN, we get regular reports from Fred AliAkaBar, special assistant to the Supreme Leader of IRAN!", "Heh, Heh, how's that for effective?", "Heh, Heh". Anyway, even more, if the outing of Plame exposed an asset which resulted in harm to them or their families/friends... we should know. If there's no further damage to be done, we should know just how much it cost us! Of course, we already know some of the potential for serious harm--and that is, by itself, enough of a crime. Remember, though, it's also a significant crime to lie about it, assuming of course that we can ever get anyone from this administration to actually take an Oath before giving testimony!
