Giuliani Making Plans for 2008!!
Rudy Giuliani (R) "is taking several steps that could lay the groundwork for a presidential bid, strengthening alliances with Republicans nationwide and especially with conservative leaders of the party," the New York Times reports.

Giuliani's advisers "say he will decide around the end of the year whether to seek the Republican nomination for president in 2008... but they say he could enter the race at the start of 2007, or even later, and still assemble a team and raise tens of millions of dollars in a relatively short time."

7. Did you read Kristen Breitweiser's column about Rudy on 9/11
It might change your opinion on how he handled it.

2. Doesn't most of the country see him as a New York Jew?
Or at least a divorced, homo-loving, loudmouth New York asshole?

6. He's ITALIAN....a BAD CATHOLIC...and he sees an OPENING
He's looking at what is happening, sees the handwriting on the wall, sees that BushCo has made some sort of accomodation with McCain, and also sees that McCain could be BADLY damaged by what is coming out over the Scooter business.

Hey, here's your choice, GOP: A crooked "straight talk express" old fool with dodgy health, in bed with the corrupt BushCo, or a twice-divorced, aldulterous, hubris-laden, civil rights-abrogating asshole, also with dodgy health!

If the fundies get disgusted enough to stay home, he could get the nom. I think he, like McCain, overestimates his "crossover appeal" though in the general election.

3. I won't vote for him, but I would have to say...
I would rejoice at the day that the republicans nominate a vehemently pro choice and vehemently pro gay rights candidate from New York City. I don't like the guy at all but I would take perverse delight in him getting the republican nod.

I wouldn't count on it though. In fact I'd place good solid betting money that it won't ever happen.

4. Pro-choice, pro gay rights, pro gun control (anti-gun)
I'm sure those stances will go over real well in a South Carolina Republican primary.

8. He's an authoritarian statist...
remember the Free Speech Zones in NYC? His disrespect for the 2nd Amendment is matched by his disrespect for the 1st and 4th...
